Greenwood RDA at Eastfield

There’s a new man at Greenwood RDA. Everybody meet Humble Pye (or Pye for short).

Pye arrived safely at the Farm last week and has settled in his field with Tizzy. Tizzy is a wise and experienced RDA pony so we’re hoping she will teach Pye the ropes.

Pye still has some things to learn before taking part in RDA sessions. Today Pye met Da**ie and Pride whilst having some time in the stables.

We are looking for a new horse to join our team at Eastfield Farm, must be suitable for RDA 🐴
Requirements:
As safe as possible
Kind temperament
Aged 6+
14hh - 15.2hh
Weight carrier

Will be handled by a variety of volunteers of different abilities so good ground manners are a must 🤩
We would consider a loan horse or LWVTB.

Happy horses and happy volunteers!

The sun is out so 3 of our long term and regular volunteers headed out for a ride with Tizzy, Susie and pride.

Da**ie and paddock pal Alfie spent the morning in their corral (a fancy name for a small paddock) eatting some long grass.

RDA pony Da**ie and her field pal Alfie managed to avoid bath time this week. Unfortunately the weather turned cloudy and due to their age we didn’t want to risk them getting a chill.

Luckily they still got to spend time with the volunteers. Da**ie likes to keeps an eye on the volunteers to make sure they are keeping her paddock clean and tidy.

There will be a chance to meet our RDA ponies at our upcoming fundraising event this Saturday.

So Pride, Susie and Tizzy have had a pamper afternoon to ensure they look their best for the occasion.

Saturday is a great opportunity to come and meet the ponies and volunteers. Our trustees and head coach will be on hand to answer any questions.

A date for your diary!

On Saturday 29th June 2024 we will be holding our summer fair for the 3rd year running.

With free entry, games and activities for all ages it promises to be a fantastic event for the whole family.

Whether you’re wanting a family friendly afternoon out or looking to enquire about joining us as a volunteer, we have a stall for all!

It’s been a wet start to 2024 for the RDA ponies. Thankfully the rain has stopped today and the sun is shining which Tizzy is very happy about!

Because of all the rain the RDA ponies have been spending their nights in a nice warm stable. Susie was ready for a lie down last night. There wasn’t even enough time to take off Susie’s rug before she laid down on her bed, it’s hard work grazing on the grass all day!
