Another new one! Hygrophilla serpyllum (sometimes called "Marsh Carpet"). Is a low growing creeping foreground plant. With enough light, these are great carpeting plants, a bit like Monte Carlo, just with much bigger leaves which make maintenance and planting easier. Tropica have added a second Sword Aquarium Plant to their 1-2-grow line: Echinodorus grisebachii 'Tropica' is a distinctive sword plant that was discovered in the Tropica nursery in Denmark during the 1980s. This plant is well-suited for the foreground or middle ground of aquariums due to its compact size, which typically ranges from 5 to 10 cm in height.

A new Tropica 1-2-grow plant has just arrived: Spirodela polyrrhiza or Greater Duckweed. The leaves form at around 0.5 to 1cm and can form a dense cover on the water surface. Royal Mail Strikes 30th September and 1st October 2022

Here we go again!

Royal Mail Strikes 8th and 9th September 2022

Royal Mail staff are striking on Thursday and Friday (8th + 9th September). This will cause dramatic interrupts on Royal Mail deliveries throughout the country. It is a step up from the previous strikes. There will be NO parcel collections from businesses over four days and no deliveries on Thursday and Friday. This will have massive impacts on post collected from businesses on Monday and we are expecting delays in processing of post across all mail centres to last at least until the end of the following week. Affected are our Economy, Standard and Livestock delivery options. Please allow additional transit and despatch times for orders on those services.
Plant orders placed Wednesday afternoon and later on those services will most likely be held by us until Monday, if the ordered plants are too fragile (some species and invitro plants will travel well).

Our courier option is NOT affected, and we would STRONGLY advise our customers to choose this service during checkout.

Last Livestock Shipping Dates for 2021!

With 2021 coming to an end, we are now getting closer to the last order and shipping dates for livestock (shrimp & snails). Traditionally, Royal Mail's delivery performance goes down from the middle of December due to very high mail volumes. In addition, we are expecting colder weather, which makes delays more concerning.

These are the last shrimp & snail order and delivery dates for 2021:
