We are so pleased (and proud) to announce our brand new cattery at Truthwall Mill Kennels and Cattery is finished and we are taking bookings. 🙌🏼

The new cattery has:
🐈 13 double cat pens.
🐈 8 of the pens have cat flaps to individual covered outside runs, so the cats can stay out in all weathers if they wish.
🐈 The other 5 pens all have windows, which can be open all day (there are grids in front), and ledges for them to sunbathe on.
🐈 We can access all the pens from both the front and back, with a safety corridor behind the outside runs that stays padlocked.
🐈 We have heating throughout, plus individual plug in heat pads for every bed in winter.

The council is visiting to officially sign everything off on 16th Sept. ✅

If you have used us to board your cats previously but not been for a while, and haven't seen the new cattery progressing over the last few months, we guarantee you'll love it!

We've had a kennel vacancy come up last minute.

This is for a single kennel, and it's available from tomorrow for the next six days until 11th September.

We also have space from 13th pm September pm to the 22nd September pm.

So if anyone is thinking about a last minute holiday..... drop us an email!

Our play equipment sometimes gets used... differently... 😆

After a fast game of chase, and a bit of leaping like racehorses, Maj decided to lie on the tunnel and take a breath, before resuming high speed play with new recruit Leonard, who had joined us for a taster session.

If you are thinking of kenneling, or have kenneled elsewhere, but not with us, we always ask new dogs to come and spend time getting to know us first.

Leonard's only 11 months old, so this was his first time. We know Maj well, and she's super playful, so it was great to buddy them up. 😊

Just managed to sneak this in before the day was done....

Happy International Cat Day everyone.

Here are some of the kitty-cats that we have had the pleasure of looking after lately. Plus a couple of our own that are sadly no longer with us - my Miss Molly, bottom left, who was nearly 19, and my teddy bear Rupert, bottom centre.

We do have some big cat news coming your way soon... more to be revealed in the next week or so.

For now though, a big shout out to all the mischievous munchkins who put the meWOW in miaow.

🍎 Our apple trees are laden this year, so we set our teenagers the task of picking the nicest, fattest ones, and popping them all in crates out the front of the kennels.

🍏 If you fancy popping a few pennies in their jar, you are welcome to help yourselves to any of these beauties and start apple crumble season nice and early this year.

We've been busy walking, playing and swimming - the dogs not us.. although there have been a couple of close calls.. 😆

We've had some newbies come and join us for their taster sessions, so it's been lovely getting to know them.

We've had love bugs, ball fans, and dogs that don't just splash in the stream, they full-on roll in it!

And for a good week+ our cattery was filled with cuddly boys! We've got a few girlies in now, to even up the numbers.

We're lucky to have this little stream nearby, and it's so lovely to pop down with a couple of dogs for a splash in the afternoon sun.

Looks like we've got more lovely weather on Thursday and Friday this week.

Are you a super cat cuddler, dog ball thrower, and top notch cleaner...

You will be working as a part of a pair, looking after all the dogs and cats in our care. We are out in all weathers, so you mustn't mind a bit of rain, and you must have your own transport (we aren't near a bus route).

This job is so much more than just walking, feeding and cleaning. It's about understanding an animal's needs, being their friend, working out what makes them tick, helping the nervous ones, having fun with the lively ones, and looking out for the older ones.

No prior experience necessary, we just need you to work hard and be confident around animals.

You might be wondering why on earth I am sharing a video of me weeding our boat..

This was yesterday lunchtime, about 2pm, with the kennel block just behind me. We have 19 dogs in there - and you could hear a pin drop.

I'm sharing this because when you all drop your 4-legged (and some 3-legged!) friends to us, there can be a lot of hollering! And we always say, it's not like it all day long!

But truly it isn't. This is normal. Quiet, peaceful, everyone's had cuddles, walks, ball play, and they are settled. Until it gets to 4pm and it's teatime of course! That's a different story. 😂
