Some of our soggy doggies (who didn't give a hoot about the rain!) from this morning. Especially when they got treats, towels and the heaters turned on afterwards!

We on the other hand, finished our shift soaked through 💦 and in much need of a hot cuppa.

Thank goodness the sun is already making an appearance ready for this afternoon.

❗We've had a cancellation and found ourselves with a kennel going spare this weekend - can be for one or two dogs, as it's a double. Any takers...... ❗

While we're on the subject of kennel spaces, we are very nearly full for Easter now - only one kennel left for each week of the school holidays.

This little monkey had to go in the sink for a belly wash twice today!

Loki only has little legs, so after his walks today it looked like he'd enjoyed time in a swamp.

It is wet and muddy but we're not quite at swamp conditions just yet!

**Update**
The wind certainly made some noise last night, but everyone and everything is fine. Only thing that suffered a bit of damage was the tinsel wrapped around the gate. Tris and Jackie are working all day today, trying not to get blown over!

With Storm Darragh picking up pace, we thought we'd pop out a quick update for those of you who have pets boarding with us currently.

We will be popping down around 8-8.30pm to say goodnight to them all as per usual.

We have the kennels and the cattery on CCTV linked to our phones. This not only alerts us to any movement, but we can actively look at any of the cameras whenever we wish - for example the middle of the night!

We are keeping an eye on the live feeds from both our nearest Coastguard stations, Penzance and Gwennap Head. The top speed for wind so far was an hour ago - 40mph.

The radio will be left on a little louder than normal down the kennels tonight, much like we do around bonfire night.

We are expecting the winds to pick up early morning, then ease again, but pick up once more during the day on Saturday.

Thankfully we are situated in a dip, which means we can get pretty wet with run off from the roads and fields, but usually feel the wind less.

We felled some dead trees last year that we felt were a little too close for comfort, and the rest were given the once over by the tree surgeon.

Kerry's heading off now to give all our guests hugs and treats...

Well thanks Molly cat.. exactly how am I supposed to fill out forms when you decide the best seat in the house is on top of our work diary. Wouldn't be anything to do with me trying to multitask and also eat a tuna jacket potato would it.....

Greenie and Mable just met this morning and little Mable, who's bold as brass, gave Greenie the run around. 🤣

Walks by torchlight!

As we're so rural and there is no light pollution, the light is already fading fast when we start our evening walks, and its pitch black before we finish.

The cats start snoozing after their dinner.

But for the dogs, there are new smells, rustles in the bushes, sometimes a 🦇overhead, a squeak from the woods, or an owl in the distance. A whole different soundtrack!

Happy National Black 🐈‍⬛ Cat Day.

This is our own elderly lady.. 18 year old Molly.

She's got the most brilliant fangs 🦷 and would make a great witch's cat! 🧙🏻‍♀️

Sadly these black beauties are often overlooked at rehoming shelters.

Superstition sucks.. black cats are beautiful. 🖤
