XL Bully owners, this is your one week reminder! ⏰

From 1 February 2024 in England and Wales, it will be a criminal offence to own an XL Bully, unless you have a valid Certificate of Exemption (CoE).

You have until midday Wednesday 31 January to get your application in for a CoE. The cost of a CoE is £92.40 and you are now only able to do this online. To apply, you must have third party public liability insurance for your dog which is provided by our friends at Dogs Trust 🐕

We know this is hard time for XL Bully owners, and we will continue to support you as best we can. To read our recent FAQs, click here: http://pdsa.me/hLcd

Unfortunately we had to make the heart breaking decision to have Coco put to sleep this weekend. I will be taking a few days off work and will not be replying to any work based messages.

Thank you for your understanding.

You will be missed very much Coco!

We've now had Coco for a whole year! She started out not liking men and being terrified of me, to such a friendly and cuddly pup that just wants to sit on me! Such a massive turn around for her and I'm so proud and glad we've given her a home she's happy in!

TERRIBLE TEENS!

A lot of new puppies will be starting to get to their terrible teen phase! (From as early as 6 months to almost 2).

This is where they start growing in size and energy. Just like human teenagers they will have an overabundance of energy and no idea what to do with it so it can come out as chewing furniture and even going to the bathroom inside again. This is unfortunately when most puppies are re-homed or given to a rescue but fortunately this phase only lasts a short while and is totally normal!

Here's a few tips to help you both succeed through this challenging time!

MANAGEMENT
Always set your puppy up for success! Always look to yourself first to see if you could have stopped this before blaming the dog. Always try and put your dog in situations that remove the chance for bad behaviour and don't ask too much of them if they can't manage it. Make alternative things for them to do when they can't settle instead of waiting for the trouble to happen.

PATIENCE
Patience is key with puppies, being angry could take your training backwards and damage your relationship. Being too energetic may also give the impression that you're having a good time which could reinforce behaviour that you don't want.

KEEP THEM BUSY!
At this time your dog is a ball of energy and they need you to support them by giving them outlets. This needs to be mental and physical like hiding treats around the house to find.

TRAINING
Training is really important at this stage too, he needs you to lay the foundation for him to grow and with all that energy it's the perfect time to learn to control it.

This stage is tough on pup and owner but is so rewarding once you're through it! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via the Dynamo Dog Walking page. I'm always happy to help and love to get questions and hear your stories about this time!

Thank you for reading and have a good day!

I think it's about time I introduce Coco properly!

She's a 10 year old rescue Rottweiler that's a bit nervous of everything! We've had her around 6/7 months now in that time we've had to remove a toe so she now has an alien foot!

If you ever see us out on a walk she'll definitely bark but please do say hello! She'll be wearing a muzzle just in case but she really just wants a stroke!

Unfortunately she wasn't socialized when she was younger so she's very barky at everyone and everything that moves but if the barking doesn't scare you she'll happily accept your cuddles!
