Tango Fizz or Champagne Bubbles?

How would I describe Buddy in human form?

Buddy is the popular, cheeky, round grubby faced, freckled kid, one sock down, always has something stuffed in his pockets, sporty, class clown that everyone wants to be their friend.

What I love is when Buddy’s mum drops him off she always says “see you soon Friend” I love this so much. It sums him up perfectly.

This time Buddy came in with an overall orange tinge🍊 🙄 He’d been mud wallowing with the dog walker it seems, god knows what, where or how but it had stained he’s Champaign colour coat terribly. It’s difficult to see in the pics, but he was Tangoed with a slightly chalky, gluey feel🫣

Well straight into the bath Mr…

Luckily I have a tool for that! Out with the big guns.

I’m currently trialing a new Shampoo range from a company called , which ticks the Forest Tails company ethos, natural and sustainable.

The Filty Skin and Coat Shampoo, with Green Tea and Lemon Peel extracts enriched with Aloe Vera, that says deeply cleans, providing extra deodorisation whilst nourishing the coat. It took a number of washes to run the water clear but I’d say it did the job

Meet Fred and Mable the Basset Hounds. Aren’t they gorgeous 🥰

Basset Hound Facts
🐾 the name Basset is derived from the French word bas, meaning 'low'

🐾 Bassets are known for their incredible ability to smell. In fact, they have over 220 million smell receptors. Those incredible ears also help lift scents off the ground and right into the nose of these super smell-sensitive Basset hounds.

🐾 When it comes to staying afloat, they aren’t the best (and it doesn’t help that they carry two-thirds of their weight at the front).

🐾 Marilyn Monroe was a big fan of this breed, she had a Basset named Hugo

DON’T HAVE A HOT DOG HAVE A CHILLI DOG INSTEAD!

As the weather warms up, regular grooming will help your dog to regulate their temperature and prevent heatstroke. This is even more important if they have long or thick hair.

Although dogs don’t sweat through their skin like humans, a tangle free coat will be beneficial in hot weather.

Regular brushing is key, and while you’re brushing your dog, keep a close eye out for signs of fleas and any areas of dry skin that could indicate an allergy or skin irritation. It’s also a good time to check their ears and paws for grass seeds, which can be painful and dangerous.

Protection from the sun ☀️

Dogs can suffer from sunburn and you should ensure that your dog is well-protected. Short-haired breeds or dogs with light hair are more at risk.

“Don’t Poodle My Doodle” …. Oh dear, I’ve gone rogue!!

With popularity of poodle hybrids, cockerpoos, cavapoos, snoodles, ausidoodles, sh*tpoos, cacapoos..… the list goes on. Groomers have seen an influx of clients dealing with the challenges of poodle-mix coat who aren't interested in a poodle look, pom-poms and pointy noses. (Sadly, because I love the look!)

There is a new grooming trend known as Asian fusion grooming which is a wonderful way to capitalize on the versatility of a poodle-type coat without making the dog "look like a poodle" while still sending dogs home with a reasonably low-maintenance look.

It’s something I have a real interest in and a desire to learn more about the technique. It’s basically making dogs look super cute.

Rosie Posies Puppy Grooming Introduction update! She’s such a wiggle, it’s a challenge to film her 🐾. She’s such a sweetheart and takes everything in her stride. Bath, dry, clippers, brush, nails all ticked off the list. Well done Rosie. The plan is for her to come in for reminder sessions and tidy every few months. The 9 - 14 months are the key times, this is where fear is learned so let’s set her on a path to success.

It’s my dogs turn!!! It was getting to the point where I wouldn’t say I was a Groomer when out on walks 😂🐾 Charlie was a scruff! After a long day with clients dogs he seems to miss out. Charlie’s a Terrier x Wirehair Pointer so his coat is hand-stripped not clipped to keep the rough texture. He’s a big dog so it’s a labour of love ❤️ He was not amused!
