In order to start prepping for the dreaded winter, Harry will be giving away a 36 bale pallet of bedding to one of you! To enter, all you have to do is guess the height in centimetres of the piece of miscanthus the arrow is pointing to and post your guess in the comments with an emoji that makes you happy and share this post! Answers need to be in by 12pm on Monday 2nd September 2024. In the event of a tie, everyone who answered correctly will be put onto a random name picker wheel to select the winner. We have a vision................

Ethos - Greener, cleaner feed and bedding was born from the successful bedding and feed company IEC Equine Solutions.

In 2019 we came to realise that the animal feed and bedding industry as a whole, could impact the environment less and still produce top class products at great prices. We have made some massive changes, altered the way we operate and been self critical in everything we do, as a result, in 2020, Ethos was launched.

We are hoping that through our continued research and the changes that we have made and will continue to make, the following aims will be achievable:

•The reduction of our companies carbon footprint wherever we can.

•Passing on this ability to reduce a carbon footprint to our customers and product end users.

•Allowing our customers to demonstrate & celebrate their investment in carbon reduction via our carbon negative products and environmental projects.

•The supply of high quality, cost effective, sustainable & British grown equine bedding and feed in the most environmentally sound way we can.

•Forming sales partnerships with discerning, like minded customers across the UK.

Miscanthus is...……………..

•A carbon negative crop – locking away carbon in it’s root system, it is planted permanently meaning that its carbon capture is permanent.

•Highly disease resistant – doesn’t require spraying and is chemical free.

•Very high carbon capture properties – Every ton of miscanthus grown removes 3 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere.

•Even after it has been harvested, packaged, used, broken down and used as a manure it is still carbon negative by 1 ton per ton produced !

•This “spare” carbon capture can offset you and your customers carbon emissions.

•The forest ecology network states “In comparison to wood shavings from plantation grown trees, miscanthus is over three times more effective at removing carbon from the atmosphere”.
