This incredibly sweet boy is Grahams ❤️
Grahams is a 13 year old Labrador who was struggling to walk or even stand 5 weeks ago. His owner took him to see his vet for a quality of life discussion as his back legs just kept giving way.
Luckily, his vet and I had spoken in the past, and a decision was made to refer Grahams for K-Laser therapy.
Grahams had 6 sessions of therapy over 3 weeks, and look at him go now!
The difference K-Laser therapy has made for Grahams quality of life is incredible and he is able to enjoy his much loved walks again❤️
Send me a message to see if K-Laser could make the difference for your pet too!
In the next few weeks, I will be delving further into laser therapy and what it is.
🔴Laser is an acronym and stands for: "light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation.". Which makes it different from an LED (Light Emitting Diode).
🔴Light emitted by normal means such as a lightbulb or any LED is incoherent, or the photons of the many wave frequencies of light are oscillating in different directions. It is not a stream of light. Coherent light is a beam of photons (almost like particles of light waves) that have the same frequency and are all at the same frequency. Only a beam of laser light will not spread and diffuse. In lasers, waves are identical and in phase, which produces a beam of coherent light. It basically means that the laser light will go where it's pointed at.
🔴Just like plants, the cells in bodies react to light. PhotoBiostimulation refers to the use of light to stimulate a biological reaction and increase cellular energy. With the use of the right wavelengths, cells are able to absorb nutrients more quickly and eliminate waste substances. This will result in a reduction of inflammation, provide analgesia (pain relief), and accelerate the regeneration (healing) of tissue.
I will be going into more detail on all these in future posts.
🔴Laser therapy treatments are pain-free and non invasive. All your pet will feel is a comforting warmth and have a little bit of a massage. Most pets tolerate laser treatment very well and often doze off during the treatment. However, even for nervous pets or ones that don't like to be touched where they are sore, laser can offer amazing results by working "off contact.". Due to the nature of laser light, it is possible to treat from a distance and still have the right amount of energy delivered into the cells.
In my next post, I will be talking more about photobiostimulation and the importance of wavelengths.
As always. If you have any questions or want to know if laser therapy is beneficial
So cute!
This little darling has his nails cut by me every few weeks, and now his owners are away for the day I get to spend some time cuddling him 🥰
⭐️Star Patient of the Month ⭐️
In my new series, I will be discussing an interesting case I have been working on every month.
This month's star patient is the beautiful Jack!
About 2 years ago, Jack suffered from a Fibrocartilaginous embolism (FCE)
Fibrocartilaginous embolism is a sudden onset spinal cord injury as a result of a sudden blockage of a vessels blood supply to an area of the spinal cord, which resulted in Jack losing control and feeling of his hind limbs. Over the past two years, Jack learned to cope, and even though his left hind got better and better, his right still struggled. Jack's owners were concerned about the amount he was dragging his right hind and scuffing his toes.
Upon assessment by vet Liz at Alsager Vets4Pets, it was decided that Jack needed a bit more help, and he was referred for K-Laser Therapy.
Jack received 6 laser sessions in total, but his owners could see a marked difference as soon as he had his first treatment. Over the 6 sessions, I would check the muscle circumference in both hind limbs and check his deep pain reflexes. Jack's treatment consisted of lasering the lumbar spine, both hips, knees, and hocks. We really followed the nerve paths to help nerve regeneration.
After 6 sessions, his right leg had gained a lot of muscle, his deep pain reflex was marginally better and his owners reported: "Jack is like a different dog after K-Laser therapy, he is enjoying his walks, he seems unstoppable and was even able to jump up on the sofa without any trouble."
In the video, you can see Jack after his last session, and although it's not a perfectly normal walk, for Jack it has made a world of difference.

The ever so lovely Bruce absolutely loving his K-Laser treatment 😍
Bruce is having Laser Therapy done to help his arthritis, I laser both knees, both hips and his lower back for pain relief. Bruce used to lack behind on walks and was not as keen to go out anymore. After just 3 treatments Bruce started enjoying his walks again, and now at the end of his course (6 treatments) he is back to running around with the other dogs 🐕 💕
