Stud season is approaching, and at Eclipse Stud, we’re preparing our stallions to be in peak condition for their breeding responsibilities.
For other stallion owners out there, preparation is key to ensuring a successful and healthy season for your horses. Here’s how we do it:
Nutrition: Our stallions are on tailored diets provided by our independent nutritionist as well as other leading nutritionists on our team are -

making sure they have the correct amounts of protein, vitamins especially Vitamin E , as well as extra minerals to support stamina and fertility. Maintaining optimal body condition is important for their own health and their reproductive health.
Exercise: A well-structured fitness routine keeps our stallions fit. Regular exercise improves cardiovascular health, supports muscle tone, and reduces stress.
Veterinary : We schedule pre-season health checks, including swabs taken from the urethra, urethral fossa, pe**le sheath and pre-ejaculatory fluid as well as doing blood tests to make sure the stallions don't have,

We also check they are all up to date with their vaccinations and have had a recent worm count.
Stud Check: we make sure the stallions are flushed out regularly and we also do extended tests to make sure the best extender can be picked for the rest of the season. We do this at home or Stallion AI Services
Handling: Consistent training and handling maintain calm, respectful behavior. This is especially important during a busy season we like to use natural horsemanship and positive reinforcement .
Scheduling: We create a balanced breeding schedule to avoid overworking the stallions, ensuring their health and energy throughout the season.
Whether you're a seasoned breeder or preparing your stallion for his first season, these steps are vital for success. A well-prepared happy stallion is a key role in getting mares pregnant.
