To all our dearest clients,

Due to insufficient staffing levels, it is with great sadness to announce that our Market Drayton branch requires a temporary closure from 27th August 2024, until further notice.

This decision wasn’t easy and has not been made lightly. To allow for the kind of service and high standard of care we wish to provide for our clients and our patients, we need to pool our resources together during the staff shortage, from our Newport branch.

We are still always on the other end of the phone if you need any advice, and we are able to make appointments and procedures at our Newport branch. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

The lovely boy has been reunited with his owners - RIP Puss.

We are seeking the owner of a male, all black cat.

He has been brought into us this morning, sadly he was found deceased on the side of Longford Road 💔

He is not microchipped or wearing a collar but he has been neutered.
We would very much like to find his owners so we can inform them of his passing.

Sadly this week we will be saying goodbye to our head honcho Dermot. We have all been so lucky to work with him and we wish him all the best in the future. Here are a few words from the man himself:

‘After 30 years at Tern Vets , I have decided the time has come to say goodbye. I have been privileged to have enjoyed every day of this time - working with brilliant colleagues all of whom I regard as close friends . Together we have tried to provide as caring a service as possible to our many clients in North Shropshire and I will treasure many memories of you and your own little loved ones , whatever ailments they have presented with. There have been tears , of course , as they can’t live forever but we have had many moments of absolute joy when recoveries that seemed unlikely actually came about through our team efforts! We have overseen many developments at Tern over this time in our efforts to bring you a service and facilities to be proud of ; however I feel that now is the right time for me to step back and take a break for a while before deciding on any further vet roles. I wish you all the very best and that your pets remain healthy and well here at Tern ! Much love to you all, Dermot’

Unfortunately we had a female all black cat handed in yesterday evening (sadly no chip found), she was found in a lay-by by Fordhall Farm under a blossom tree. Please contact us if you think she may be yours.

Please keep an eye out. She has gone missing from Butts road area since earlier this week. She’s about a year old, grey/blackish colour with grey stripes on body, legs and tail light grey colour underneath
