We're currently underway with a big project for Moreton Morrell College in Warwickshire. Our team erected this one yesterday and they should have another one finished by the end of today. 5 more buildings to go!

Our team are heading home after their trip down to Chichester today. They have sent me these pics of a Thicket walk in hen house and a 10' x 10' pony/alpaca shelter on metal towing skids that they've assembled. Fingers crossed some happy customers!

The chaps have just sent me a photo of the Thicket Hen House with wheels that they have just put up in beautiful Northumberland, they're now heading south to deliver a large walk in run to North Yorkshire. The chaps assembled a goat house size C for a lovely customer in Herefordshire yesterday.
'I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at “Smith’s” for all your hard work, we are delighted with our new goat house. It’s been a long slog to get to this point, and I thank you also for your patience whilst we sorted out our access. I will send a photo when our goats arrive and I have a feeling we will be in contact in the future when the herd expands. Kindest regards, Julie'

I can't believe it is March already. Fingers crossed the weather starts to improve a little. The team have been on beautiful Anglesey today assembling these lovely buildings; a thicket hen house, a 10' x 6' sheep shelter and a 12' x 18' pony shelter.

Sophie very kindly shared a video of her Haywood Hen house on the move shortly after we delivered it this week! I can't stop watching it! Dad's the man for making the steel skid frames that we use to make our buildings towable. He puts tow lugs on all 4 corners so that you can move it both ways. Lovely job Dad!

A somewhat belated HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our social followers! I've been very lazy on the social media posts for a while, but we're still here and delivering our lovely hen houses and animal buildings. This one has arrived in Wiltshire today. It is based on our Haywood 50 design with a few modifications;- 12' wide with a slatted plastic floor so that the hens tread the droppings through onto the ground, staged perches that can be hinged up for cleaning and metal skids so that that it can be towed onto fresh grass. It also has a 'Pro Chicken Guard' fitted from ChickenGuard to manage shutting the hens away at night. Plenty of features to help ease management time. Hopefully some happy hens to be resident soon.

A fabulous job by the team yesterday in Lincolnshire. This one is a bespoke 24' x 12' Pony Shelter on metal skids. It has two 6' openings on the front with galvanised gates and a division with an 8' galvanised gate inside.

One happy customer on this very horrible wet day! We built this log store today in our local village. We were given the measurements of the concrete block that sticks out into the log store, and our clever carpenters built around it. All ready to fill with logs!

One of our larger houses. This one is based on our Needwood 200 bird hen house but with only one bank of roll away nest boxes, as the customers were not intending to stock it to full capacity.

Last week we went down to the fabulous to deliver him a hen house for his lovely Cochins. The design is based on our Campbell duck house, but adapted with nests and perches. We hope the Cochins are happy with their new bungalow!

We have been making our Sherwood design for nearly 20 years now, and Clive Smith had been making it for nearly 20 years before us, so it's a good tried and tested design. Here is one in our 50 bird houses on wheels that we delivered to Cambridgeshire the other week. Hopefully it now has some happy inhabitants!

Our amazing team built this big beast (24' x 12') the other week down in Berkshire. We made it on metal skids so that it can be towed if needs be. All our horse shelters are lined inside to 4' high with 12mm hard ply as standard. We used a new product made by on the roof. This is their Duro SX35 roofing sheet in anthracite grey with two clear roof sheets.

A couple of weeks ago our wonderful delivery chaps travelled all the way to Penzance to deliver one of our Haywood 50 hen houses. This particular customer had purchased his first hen house off us back in 2012. He very kindly sent me a some pictures, the first being a pic of mum and dad assembling his building back in 2012 which really made me laugh! And a pic of his grandson collecting the eggs from this same house, which is really fabulous. Love it!

Following a recommendation from her sister who bought a Thicket from us in June, Lisa from Surrey bought a Thicket High House with a 6' run extension and had us install it last week to keep her hens safe from avian flu.

A fabulous walk-in chicken run that we built for a lovely customer in Hull last month. It was based on our Thicket High House design, but made slightly wider 7' and longer, 18'. The chooks can get under the house for additional shelter and the whole building is covered to protect them from the dreaded Avian Flu.

We've started to make our lovely midi dell hen house with straight legs instead of angled ones, giving the hens the same amount of housing space, but taking up less ground space. It also fits on a pallet so we can send them out quickly via a courier.

Before we had children, my husband and l kept around 100 chickens of various breeds. I recently read this book by Arthur Parkinson, who is a poultry and flower enthusiast. A fabulous read with some really useful hen keeping tips for newbie chicken keepers and old hands, I'd thoroughly recommend it!

It's got me dreaming of getting back into breeding chickens again. I've got a few more years ahead of me with the child rearing, but in the meantime I've passed the book to my 13 year old nephew, who is also bonkers about chickens. No doubt it will fuel his love for the hobby and he'll be needing some more houses. Thank you for recommending us too!

A couple of weeks ago we delivered a Dell chicken coop and a block of mobile stables to Alston in Cumbria. Our lovely customer has emailed me this morning with a few pics of the hens in residence, horses still to move in.
