"We saw your post about puppy grooms... But what about my 3 year old rescue dog?"
We've changed the name of this service for that exact reason! As a family that work with rescues, we know that sometimes you don't know how a dog will react because you don't know their history. So, this service is open to them as well, to test the waters before we put them in sensory overload.
This is something I have felt passionately about the more rescue dogs I have seen and worked with. Sometimes, the standard service is too much for a resuce dog to handle and they need to learn to trust their groomer.
Get in touch using the WhatsApp button or sending us a message to discuss your rescue dogs needs.

They will get
🫧 A good sniff around the space to know where they are
🫧 A gentle bath with a double shampoo to cleanse the coat
🫧 A gentle dry and brush through to get used to being on the grooming table (and maybe some groomer cuddles 😊)
🫧 Pad trim and nail clip
🫧 Hygiene check and trim
🫧 Clearing of the eye corners

And don't forget that if you get in touch before January 31st we will offer a free Teeth Gel addition to your service

🐾🫧I guess we need introductions 🫧🐾

I'm Alex, a part time teacher (I taught full time for 8 years) and a dog groomer. I have worked full time for just under 18 months in a recognised, nationwide, commercial salon. I worked alongside amazing stylists, in one of the regions most successful salons and learnt a lot from them.
The Pet Aunty was established in March 2016 as a dog walking and puppy day care business, with the ethos of "your pets are treated like family." Natalie and Chris have built a relationship of trust with the animal lovers of Market Harbough. Sharing my life with Chirs has meant that I was along for the ride. I have loved every second of it! Sometimes we've taken that ethos literally 😁 So, when an opportunity to join them and expand the business came up, I was VERY excited.
I have always loved animals, and those that know the business already will know that we have quite the zoo at home.
Although, technically not qualified through an Ofqual accreditation for dog grooming, I am working towards one and was internally qualified upto and including 'Stylist' status at my previous salon.
I am based at Rushfield Farm on Tilton Road, the same location as Buttercups Tearoooms. I am inside Knots n' Tangles, but we are different businesses. Watch this space for more information about the location and what is on offer.

Are you excited? We're excited!

Yes! It's true! We're expanding!
In the new year, Alex is kickstarting our grooming branch. She will be based out in Billesdon at Buttercups Tea rooms.
More details will come in the next few days. Watch this space for services and prices.

The rescue that Sookie, Seb, Tink and Wade came from has posted this lovely doggie ice cream treat. I guess Alex has some extra items on her shopping list this weekend. DOG ICE CREAM

INGREDIENTS:

2 ripe bananas
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup peanut butter (unsweetened and xylitol-free)
1/4 cup water

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a blender or food processor, combine bananas, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and water.

Blend until smooth and creamy.

Pour the mixture into ice cube trays or silicone molds.

Freeze for at least 2 hours or until solid.
Pop out the ice cream cubes and serve to your dog as a treat.

NOTE:

Ensure the peanut butter is free of xylitol, as it is toxic to dogs.

You can substitute Greek yogurt with a dairy-free yogurt if your dog is lactose intolerant.

Prep Time: 10 mins | Freezing Time: 2 hrs

Total Time: 2 hrs 10 mins | Servings: 12-15 treats

By microchipping their cats, owners can increase the likelihood that they will be reunited with their beloved pet if they go missing.

⭐️⭐️Home needed⭐️⭐️

We take in a lot of animals here at The Pet Aunty, but we now have one to rehome ourselves. This handsome man is a cross between a cayuga duck and a runner duck. We currently have 2 boys and a girl and this young man is being bullied. They were taken in before we knew the genders of them and it seems they are a little competetive. Is there anyone that would be interested in taking on this gorgeous boy? 🦆

Despite changes to the RCVS Code of Conduct dogs/cats can still legally be euthanised without being scanned. In non-emergencies, we want vets to be legally required to scan microchips prior to euthanasia for RBU and confirm the person presenting the animal is registered on the microchip.
