Paws and Stay Currently fully booked *Apologies, currently fully booked and not accepting new clients*

Home boarding for SMALL/MEDIUM size breeds. Located in Wragby.
(4)

Your dog/s stay in my home and can enjoy a large secure garden, countryside walks, playtimes, toys and sofas to snooze on. Experienced dog owner, licensed by local authority (AWL0127), security vetted, insured and pet first aid trained (Level 2 VTQ), DBS checked. I have two small dogs who are well socialised and love to meet new friends. Your dog/s routine will be as close as possible to what they

are used to at home, even if they like to sleep on your bed! All dogs must be vaccinated, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms. *Male dogs must be neutered*

A socialisation visit will be necessary before any booking is accepted to ensure both you and your dogs and me and mine are happy. A 24hr trial stay over can also be arranged. Aggressive/unsocialised dogs will not be accepted. You are welcome to bring your own dog’s beds/bedding if you wish although beds are available. Crates will need to be brought with your dog if that is what they are used to. Medications can be administered and I have experience of dealing with dogs young and old and those who may have issues with nervousness, separation anxiety etc or are, like my Lhasa Apso, just a little stubborn! Opening times MON - SAT 0900-1030 & 1600-1730 - so we have time to enjoy walks, playtimes and snoozes (them not me!). Other times for drop off and pick up may be accommodated by arrangement only. Prices - £25 per day one dog, £32 two dogs. Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day incur an additional fee.

If any of our guest’s pawrents are having a clear out and have the below, please bring them along when you come and I will make sure Broken Biscuits get them. Thank you 🐶❤️

Towels , Duvets , Duvet covers and single mattresses are urgently needed at Broken Biscuits Disabled Pet Sanctuary

We’re having a difficult week. Two in isolation with UTI’s and today a tail amputation surgery which requires extra bedding areas for the Dogs to be kept separated whilst healing ❤️‍🩹

Is there any local Lincoln supporters that could help us with unwanted bedding or a single mattress we can come collect ?

or alternatively we have added a few items on the wishlist that can be sent here :

After lots of sleepless nights and much thought, I have decided not to take any bookings for boarding from Jan 2025 onwards. My little Gizmo was diagnosed with Cushings disease recently and I want to spend time focussing on him, having days out, little holidays at the beach etc. As some of you know I also have a forever foster boy, Mitch, who has hydrocephalus, learning difficulties and he has his own struggles.
Not a decision I wanted to have to make, I love boarding and love all our visitors, but my own dogs have to be a priority now.
Any bookings already made for this year will obviously be honoured, however I may need to spend some time back and forth to the vets, so if you wish to cancel any bookings for this year, I totally understand.
I know home boarders are hard to find, so if any of my fellow boarders wish to post their details below (I know you are all very busy) please do, I will add them to this post.
I can recommend Netty’s Paws and Tails, based in Dunholme and Happy Hounds based in Scothern.
I have loved every minute of my time looking after your precious pups, enjoyed all the cuddles, having no room in the bed or on the sofa 🥰 and I would like to thank you for supporting me over the last 4 years 🐶❤️xx

Don’t forget on the 18th of May Titre Testing clinic with Dr Rebecca from CalmPawz.
Open clinic between 11am and 2pm. No need to book.
£47 per test

Titre testing checks the immune response levels for Infectious Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Distemper (which are found in the DHP vaccine). For cats, it will check the levels of immune response against Panleukopenia, Herpesvirus, and Calicivirus (which are found in the Tricat vaccine).

Titer testing can also help prevent over-vaccinating

SEASONAL CANINE ILLNESS
We have started to see cases of probable Seasonal Canine Illness in dogs that have been walked in the woods in Woodhall Spa.
Although no one is sure what causes canine seasonal illness, it’s suspected that it could be linked to harvest mites. Harvest mites (Neotrombicula autumnalis) are tiny, bright orange mites that live in soil. Infestations are most commonly found on the ears (in Henry's Pocket) and in between toes. They can also be found on the legs, armpits, ge****ls and tummy.
SCI typically occurs a few days after walking in woodland, and causes symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, low energy, a high temperature and muscle tremors.
Left untreated, canine seasonal illness can be fatal. Contact us immediately if your dog has symptoms of canine seasonal illness, especially if they have recently been in woodland, or have harvest mites.

As Facebook have taken it upon themselves to edit our page, below is some updated info about us -
Fully licenced by ELDC (AWL0127) 5* rating and insured.
Pet first aid trained.
Experience with nervous/anxious dogs.
Your dog lives with us in our home and will be treated as one of the family during his/her stay.
We accept Titre testing if you choose, after initial puppy vaccinations, not to vaccinate your dogs every year.
We support natural/holistic treatments so natural flea treatments are accepted and we no longer insist on worming treatment for your dogs, lots of research shows it is not necessary (unless your dog actually has worms). There are f***l worm count tests available online so you can test your dog if you wish. Feclab Laboratories
Natural treats are provided, under no circumstances will rawhide chews be given.
We are happy to feed raw if that's what your dog is used to and can provide quality 80-10-10 and complete raw food for your dog, there is a small additional charge for this. You are welcome to bring your own raw food but we would need some notice so we can ensure adequate freezer space. We are unable to provide other foods and this still needs to be brought with your dog. We do have special foods available should your dog become unwell.
Bookings are subject to a 25% deposit at the time of booking confirmation and payment in full is due prior to your dogs stay. All information is available in our policies and procedures documentation.
Lastly, thank you to all our returning customers for your continued support 🐶❤️🐶

⚠️⚠️⚠️ Information post ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Some of you may be aware of a post circulating Facebook at the moment, in which a broken snow globe, and the ethylene glycol within it, sadly resulted in the death of two dogs. They had ingested some of the ‘water’ inside, but despite their owner taking them quickly for treatment, it was not possible to save them.

We currently have a very similar case at the hospital. Fortunately, the owner had seen the other post being circulated on Facebook, and called the vet immediately. Both dogs are being treated and will hopefully make a good recovery, but we wanted to raise the awareness of this issue - particularly for those who may not have seen the original post, and also for those who saw it but perhaps did not believe it.

Ethylene Glycol (more commonly known as “Antifreeze”) is toxic to dogs and cats, but has a very sweet taste and therefore is tempting to both. If you suspect your dog or cat may have ingested this, please call your vet immediately.

DO NOT WAIT FOR SYMPTOMS TO DEVELOP!!

Cats, in particular, do not usually show symptoms until they already have irreversible kidney damage. Dogs may show symptoms earlier, but only immediate treatment gives the best possible outcome after ingestion.

To keep your pets safe, keep snow globes where animals and children cannot reach them or accidentally knock them over. Make sure to thoroughly clean up any breakages if an accident does occur, before letting your pets back into the room

We would also appreciate if this post could be shared, so we can make sure as many people as possible are aware of the dangers of such an otherwise innocent object found in many houses.

Thank you in advance for your help, the BVH Team

Times are hard for all but for Rescue’s it’s really difficult at the moment. This one takes in dogs no one else will and cares for them. Some of the dogs stay with Pupcakes for life because they have been so damaged by humans 😢
They are based in Lincs and work really hard, they rely on donations to keep doing what they do. I don’t send Christmas cards, instead I donate to a charity (a dog one obviously!), this year the donation will be going to Pupcakes. If anyone can spare a few quid, or even join ‘easyfundraising’ and add them as a chosen charity, they and I would be truly grateful 🐶❤️

Asking for help is hard when you feel that the weight on your shoulders is finally too much to bear on your own. We are struggling to keep this rescue running.
We’ve been humbled by the continuous support received from our rescue family, friends and supporters to help us continue to save dogs. We’ve been lucky to have dedicated veterinary professionals, larger, established rescue organisations and independent businesses offer their assistance in supporting the dogs in our care.
Unfortunately, the constant realisation about rescue- especially in light of the current financial climate- is that we are in more need then ever of that support continuing.
We are being inundated with surrender requests to take on dogs everyday, but we simply do not have the funds or resources to be able to help them.

We rely solely on donations to be able to continue saving dogs from euthanasia and dangerous circumstances. More often than not, we are the last chance these dogs have.

Right now, the stark truth is that we are not bringing in enough funds to support the overall costs of running this highly in demand organisation.
We have no dried food left to feed our dogs.
With adoptions at an all time low, we cannot afford to buy enough bags of food to get us through the winter period.
We use 30kg of dried biscuit a day.
Due to many dogs being sensitive to the change of environment, they require more food to keep at a healthy weight.
We cannot pay our vets bills when we are trying to prioritise feeding our dogs with what little funds we get in.

To make our already difficult situation more strained, our beautiful Labrador Topaz, a stray needing urgent intake was confirmed heavily pregnant during a neutering appointment.
The funds required to ensure she has good quality nutrition, scans, whelping equipment and emergency treatment if there are complications during birth are not available to us.
If we do not clear our vet bill soon, we will be cut off from further veterinary treatment.
From the vet’s estimation, Topaz could be due anywhere from between Christmas to the start of the new year, which could incur additional emergency surcharges.

The cost of living has hit Pupcakes like a tidal wave, and like most rescues trying to do their best, we are drowning.

We desperately need help to get through the festive period and we are begging anyone that can donate unused dry food, donate from our Amazon wishlist*, make a general donation or donate direct to our vets to please consider doing so.
Any small amount, any effort to share our plea makes a difference.
We know that everyone is feeling the pinch, so even if you just press that share button we are so grateful!
