I am a hobby breeder who produces only carefully planned, occasional litters of quality F1 Cockerpoos, we only breed from properly health tested lines to ensure our puppies are free from inherited diseases. Our puppies are bred from pure bred Cocker Spaniels/pure bred Miniature Poodles and we only ever breed F1 (first generation) to produce a quality Cockerpoo. Our adult dogs have fabulous tempera

ments and live with us at our home, they are very much part of our family and enjoy active varied lives, they enjoy trips out to the beach, woodland walks and all love a daily walk. They are very much a part of our family and any breeding is done with the upmost care, no expense is spared and our puppies are raised to the highest standards. Socialising of our puppies is done as thoroughly as is possible to give the puppies the very best start in life, proper worming, quality food and vet checks all help prepare our puppies to start their new lives with caring, knowledgeable families. Puppies leave us at 8 to 9 weeks of age after they have had a health check at the Vets and their Microchip implanted, they leave us with 4 weeks free Petplan insurance, Microchip documents, sales contract, care sheet, extensive puppy pack and a lifetime of after care. My aim is to produce happy, healthy, confident puppies in the most moral and ethical way possible. Visitors are welcome, but please make an appointment first. We have decided to suspend any litters for the foreseeable future.

The situation regarding cross breeds in rescue continues to escalate unfortunately.

If you are considering a cross breed dog please look into reputable rescues where there are some lovely dogs awaiting a forever home.

Thank you.

Although rawhide chews come in lots of fun shapes and sizes, your dog can chew off and swallow large pieces, leading to a potential choking hazard or intestinal obstruction. What’s even worse is how rawhide is created: rawhides are a by-product of the leather industry and are soaked and treated in chemicals like bleach, formaldehyde and arsenic‼️They are then glued together to make "pretty treats".
Please avoid them at all cost, no matter how attractively they market them! 🙏🚫👎

Walkies are supposed to be fun, but for some dogs (and their owners) they can be a real source of anxiety.
The problem is that many people who have not experienced life with a sensitive dog have absolutely no clue.
When we raise awareness to just our friends and family it makes it easy and accessible for other dog owners to learn about our dogs in yellow.

Dogs don't have good or bad behaviours, they only have natural behaviours.

When all their needs are met, we can use positive, reward based training to harness the behaviours we want to see more of.

27/02/2023

People who don't understand positive reinforcement may mistakenly believe that food training doesn't work for dogs because they view it as bribery or manipulation, rather than as a scientifically proven training technique that taps into dogs' natural drives and instincts.

They may also believe that using food as a reward will create a dog that only listens when food is present, rather than understanding that food is gradually faded out as the dog learns the desired behaviour.

In reality, skilled dog trainers use food rewards in a strategic and systematic way to reinforce desired behaviours and teach new ones, and the effectiveness of positive reinforcement with food has been supported by numerous scientific studies.

Myths about Food Training:

Myth: Food training is just bribery and makes dogs reliant on treats.

Fact: While food rewards are a powerful tool for training, skilled trainers use them strategically and systematically to reinforce desired behaviours. As dogs become more proficient in a behaviour, trainers gradually reduce the frequency of food rewards through the process of fading reinforcers. Additionally, positive reinforcement trainers use variable reinforcement schedules to maintain the strength of a behaviour.

Myth: Dogs trained with food will only perform the behaviour when food is present.

Fact: Dogs trained with food rewards can learn to perform behaviours even when food is not present. Skilled trainers use a range of techniques, such as capturing and shaping, to reinforce behaviours and gradually fade food rewards.

Myth: Food rewards are only effective for training certain dogs or breeds.

Fact: Food rewards can be customized and tailored to individual dogs, making the training experience more enjoyable and motivating for them. Different dogs have different tastes and preferences when it comes to food, so using their favourite treats as rewards can be effective for a wide range of dogs.

Myth: Food rewards should be given for any behaviour that the trainer wants to reinforce.

Fact: Skilled trainers pay close attention to their timing and precision when using food rewards. The reward should be given immediately after the desired behaviour occurs to ensure that the dog makes the association between the behaviour and the reward. Additionally, the reward should be given in a precise and consistent manner, to avoid confusion or frustration on the dog's part.

Overall, food rewards are a powerful tool for training dogs, but it's important to use them strategically and systematically. Ethical and skilled dog trainers use food well, because they invest their time, energy and resources into learning how.

Popularity doesn't necessarily mean a dog trainer is ethical, it just means they have good marketing strategies and media trends - covering just a snapshot of their real work.

Always ask about methods, and see if there is a kinder way.

Reward based, force free training is less likely to build up frustration or suppress emotions until a bigger storm brews.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. It's usually a day full of love... and chocolate. Chocolate is poisonous to our four-legged friends and can give them a worryingly fast heart rate. On and around Valentine’s Day, make sure to keep all boxes of chocolates out of paw's reach of any dogs.

Just a little update for you all, our breeding plans are still on hold to help ease the current "poodle cross rescue situation", we are for the moment concentrating on our Kennel Club registered pure bred Poodles and Spaniels who can be seen on my other page "Renovatichi Miniature Poodles and Cocker Spaniels" ❤

Good morning everyone :)

I just thought I'd update you all with regards our planned litters

Due to the high number of young Cockerpoos and other Poodle crosses currently available in rescue I have made the decision to temporarily pause our breeding plans.

As you will all know we take an enormous pride in being as responsible and ethical as possible here and breeding at this time does not sit comfortably with us.

We do have KC registered Cocker Spaniels and KC registered Miniature Poodles planned for Spring 2023, these will of course be from extensively health tested parents and further details can be found on our other page which is called Renovatichi Miniature Poodles and Cocker Spaniels.

I will keep this page up to date with details of when we plan our next F1 Cockerpoo litter :)
