This absolute gentleman was seen lacking impulsion from behind - after an examination and xrays we spotted some hock arthritis.
He should have some more spring in his step after having his hocks medicated this morning 🤞

What do you see here?

I see a horse with a comfortable back which is one of the best things to see both as a vet and horse owner 😍 Especially after some spicy jumping the other night 🤔

It's not been an easy road for this mare who initially was very reactive to being touched ✨️anywhere✨️ except her face, but a sprinkling of steroid and Arthramid in just the right places and she's finally comfortable in her own skin!

Two snoozy babies 💕

Their owner has worked so hard at getting them good with needles, they were both impeccably behaved for their sedation today and are a credit to her!

Here's hoping you bring us some blue sky Kier!

The wonderful locum vet Kier (I'm not just saying that because she's also an RVC graduate...) will be looking after the practice doing all routine work for the next week and can be contacted on the usual out of hours number 07851396640 for any emergencies.

In the meantime, I'm going to be walking my dog and perhaps having a glass of wine down in Dorset 🍷

Thank you to everyone for your continued support since opening the practice, you've all been lovely and now a few days off will be lovely too 🤞😀

Wonderful to be a part of Nimmo's journey to a happier mouth 🦷

Second part which was plug change done this morning thank you Latta. All looking good and no infection so far.👍🤞
Nims is now sleeping off her sedation.
Round 3 next week which we are hoping will be the last but the hole needs to be at least 30% formed before the plugging can finish.

Young Cindy had her first dental today and was impeccably behaved (courtesy of some sedation...)

Thanks to Sharon, especially for whipping out a baby tooth for me to keep 🦷

Teeth are so vital to the horse, as is making sure your dentist has the appropriate qualifications 📜🌟

Here's a little more about Sarah:

"A country girl from Wellingore Village, I spent most of my childhood exploring my surroundings and building on my passion for animals, especially horses. From racing yards to riding schools and in more recent years working for one of the uks largest equine charities, animal welfare has always been important to me.

In my spare time I enjoy getting out and about on my Irish cob Daisy, tending to my rescue chickens or relaxing on my allotment"
