I would like to wish all my customers a very Merry Christmas and thank you all so much for supporting me this year! Having had the previous year off for cancer treatment, I wasn't sure what this year would bring for my business. But I needn't have worried, as it didn't take long to be as busy as ever! 🙂

I am now on my Christmas break and will be back on Tuesday 3 January.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!🌲

It's time for me to take a break and put my feet up for a little while! I'll be back at work on Monday 5 September.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the last 8 months. It's been wonderful to see so many familiar faces again, and to meet lots of new dogs and their owners. I will see you all very soon!

Ella has been recovering from a major operation, so hasn't been able to be groomed for a while. What a beautiful schnauzer hiding under all that hair!!😍❤️🥰

Well it's the end of my first full week of dog grooming, and I've loved every minute!❤️ I'm already fully booked next week, so can take bookings from 25 January, onwards. Now it's time to put my feet up! Thanks again for everyone's support. I hope you all have a lovely weekend!😁

It's been great to do my first full day of dog grooming today since coming back to work. Thank you to everyone who has sent me a message, given me a call to make an appointment, and dropped into the shop to see me! I am so happy to be back doing the job I love!❤️

Happy New Year to everyone! Looking forward to 2022 being a good year!🤞

I will be in the shop from 9am - 4pm everyday this week, except for Wednesday, when I will be here in the afternoon, 1pm - 4pm.

Please feel free to drop in and say hello!

From next week I will be working every week day, except for Wednesday's.

Unfortunately, due to increased overheads, particularly my electricity costs, I will have to increase the price of dog grooming upon my return. This will be the first price increase since I started in 2018. I hope you are all understanding!!

The good news is that I will be opening on the 4th of January. 🥂🎉

If you are passing, please pop in for a chat, it would be lovely to catch up with everyone and find out how you and your dogs have been doing over the past 12 months.

There will be something fizzy on standby should you wish to have a glass with me and celebrate the end of my treatment.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sarah at Sarah Clarke Dog Grooming, for not only looking after some of my customers whilst I have been away, but for also being a true friend. So thank you Sarah ###

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to post an update. I know I promised you that I would keep you updated, but it has been really hard dealing with everything that's happened this year.

I also wanted to wait till I knew what was happening and I have finally got some good news to tell.

I can't thank those of you who have been in touch and sent me get well messages enough. I have been so touched that you have taken the time to message or phone me and it has been a real help when I have felt down.

For those that don't know, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in December last year and because the tumour was so big, I had to have 8 rounds of chemo before they could operate.

Chemo threw every side effect at me you can imagine, from horrendous sickness (I didn't realise anyone could vomit that much) to loosing my hair, eyelashes and worst of all my eyebrows. Plus just about every other side effect possible.

As well as the Kojak look, I had no immune system, so trying to dodge covid was interesting to say the least. I never left the house for months apart from going to the hospital.

The good news is that after 8 rounds of chemo and endless delays it had shrunk the tumour enough to operate. This was the worst time for me. I was glad to have finished chemo, but the thought of having a mastectomy was devastating.

Coming home from the surgery in terrible pain with drains and tubes everywhere was the pits, but it didn't take long to bounce back and the results from the surgery were excellent.

That just left radiotherapy to go, but as you all probably know, the NHS is suffering from terrible delays and it kept getting put back again and again.

The good news is that I have finally started radiotherapy now and hopefully, if all goes well, I'll be finished and recovered in time for Christmas.

I was hoping to open the grooming parlour in time for Christmas, but the delays mean its just not going to be possible.

So the plan is to open at the beginning of January. I'm thinking of having a bit of a special opening day, where I will have some bubbly on ice. It would be lovely if you could pop in and we can have a drink together and celebrate my recovery.

Thank you again everyone for your love and support and I'll update the page as soon as I know what date I will be opening.
