Is your cat legal?

As of 10th June 2024 it will become law for all cat owners in England to have their cats microchipped by 20 weeks of age as well as all adult cats currently not chipped. This will ensure lost, stolen or injured cats have the best chance of being reunited with their owners. The new rules require cats to be implanted with a microchip recorded on a Defra approved database.
I am offering a cat to vet transport service for this procedure at low cost for pet owners who struggle getting to vets. Sorry, No passengers - I will take your cat for you and return them home safely, you can be rest assured they will be treated like my own.

As cats age, they become more prone to certain medical conditions, with kidney disease being one of them. In fact, it’s been estimated that up to 50% of cats 15 years or older can suffer from chronic kidney disease, or CKD for short!

As the name suggests, CKD progressively impairs kidney function. Though this loss of function is irreversible, treatment helps slow disease progression and manage its symptoms, allowing your cat to lead a comfortable, happy life.

Signs of CKD can be very subtle at an early stage and include:

🐾 Increased thirst and urination

🐾 Decreased appetite and weight loss

🐾 Vomiting

🐾 Unkempt look

If your cat is over 7 years old, routine vet checks are very important as these can lead to early detection of this disease. The sooner treatment is started, the better for your feline friends!

Are your pets ready to face the cold? 🐾 🌨️Check our list below for some of the most essential seasonal precautions:

❄ Keep your pets inside during harsh weather conditions, and keep an eye out for signs of frostbite if they have the chance to be outside.

❄ Antifreeze, commonly used during winter for car maintenance, is highly toxic, and ingestion can be fatal, so ensure you keep it out of your pets' reach in sealed containers.

❄ Check your pets' sleeping spaces for drafts or cold spots that may make resting uncomfortable, especially for older pets with achy bones or joints.
