Towpath Tails Dog Park Welcome to Towpath Tails Dog Park. We offer two play areas - The Paddock and The Coppice. Water is provided, as is a poo bin. And sanitiser is available.

A safe and calm environment for your dog to run, sniff, play and learn to their doggy hearts delight; and for you to relax and chill out in the rural canal-side setting while they have fun. Nestled within our own Christmas tree plantation and alongside the beautiful Kennet and Avon canal in Wootton Rivers, Towpath Tails Dog Park offers all dog owners a peaceful corner of the Wiltshire countryside

where they can let their dogs off lead safely to have the fun and freedom they deserve. Whether you want to train your puppy, let your older dog have a rummage and rootle, improve your dog’s recall or you have a rescue dog where you need a safe space, away from distractions and causes of fear and anxiety to help you build mutual trust and their confidence – Towpath Tails Dog Park is the perfect place. The Paddock is about half an acre with agility equipment and definitely LARGE ENOUGH FOR RUNNING AND PLAY, but also safe and small enough to keep watch and train. While The Coppice is a larger 3 acre space with a mix of dense and loosely wooded areas. A BIG SPACE FOR RUNNING and SNIFFING, but also great for training and recall. Having been dog owners for over 35 years we know how much it means to have a safe space to let our dogs have some freedom off lead. Our doodles, Hero (RIP💞) and Monty, love to go for long walks across the fields but they also love to tear about and play freely together in the safe space of our paddock – and so Towpath Tails Dog Park was created. SECURE - Both of the play areas within Towpath Tails Dog Park are secure spaces available for private individual hire as well as for dog training and events. Both The Paddock and The Coppice have secure 6ft deer fencing all around the field pegged to the ground, with additional rabbit fencing around the bottom and both have various forms of additional screening. Both play areas have access to the secure gated car park from which there is then a further locked secure gate into the respective play area. Both The Paddock and The Coppice then each have a further access gate fenced to 6ft high with low level rabbit fencing for double security. FACILITIES - The play areas are situated well off the village road and are accessed through a gated secure private car park. The Paddock has jumps, tubes ramps, a splash pool, and access to a natural stream. For the humans, there is a shelter with table and chairs and a clear view down the field. The Coppice is a mix of densely packed and more openly spaced mainly mature Christmas trees for a sniffers heaven. There are a couple of shelters with benches and seats, water, a small paddling pool and a poo bin. We visit both areas regularly to check the grounds, facilities and fencing, to top up the water, and to ensure that everything runs smoothly for when you arrive. This week we are featuring a few of our amazing waving, swimming and posing pups in our pics - who seem to think the benches and tables are a great vantage point!, alongside a request from Channel 4 to see if anyone who may be looking for a new pup, would be interested in featuring on their programme The Dog House. Another week into the new year and another week of amazing pups and their hoomans visiting the park. One of the great things about Towpath Tails Dog Park is that no matter what age your dogs are they each get to have their best time - as they can each wander, chase and play at their own pace. So if you're finding it a challenge to not to 'overwalk' your older dogs when you have younger ones as well; or vice-versa, your younger energetic dogs are not getting enough walk/play time when also walking an older dog, then we may be just the place for you. Plus we hear it's great for tiring out the children as well !!! 😃😉

From the frosty to the snowy ❄️🌨 this past week - and the dogs have been having SOOOO much fun chasing around and following those gorgeous scents all around the park. It's due to be less cold this week and with the nights starting to draw back out a tadge, we're now able to extend the park's closing time to 5pm 😁 - giving all you wonderful doggy hoomans an extra bit of time 🕔to come and have a safe off-lead walkies, with your fabulous pooches. 🐕🐩

It's been a chilly start to the new year and so nice, now that we finally have some more seasonal frosty weather, to see the park areas looking glorious in the frosty sunshine - after all, who wouldn't want to spend an hour strolling around this beautiful setting with your dogs having just the best time ever.....?

As storm Darragh passes, the park has managed to stand up well to those huge wind gusts 💨💦 We need to replace some screening but all the fencing is intact and the pups have continued to have an amazing time this week and weekend 🐕🐩🐕‍🦺🐾🐾🐾. Like many, our plans were upended this weekend 😕, but we hope that everyone out there has coped and is ok👍.
Looking forward let's hope it's a calmer week weather wise. But the nights are drawing in again and so we are bringing the close time at Towpath Tails Dog Park forward to 4.30pm.

Hands up who saw the Marlborough Christmas Lights switch-on on Nov 29th and spotted that the gorgeous tree in the market place was donated by none other than Towpath Tails Dog Park. - great to have been part of the celebrations.
Do share any pics you have of the tree in all it's splendour.

On an admin matter - as the mornings are staying darker longer now, we've had to pull the opening time at the park back to 7.30am. And for those of you who like the later slots - we're holding the close time at 5pm for as long as we can this week, and have some security lights on the cabin, but do remember to bring a torch for those last few minutes.

What a pawmendous inaugural Pewsey Pawfest event at the Bouverie Hall on Sat Nov 23rd. It was great to join together with so many other local businesses and celebrate all things 'dawg', and to meet so many wonderful hoomans and pups. Shelley and Isaac were on hand to answer all your questions, while David was manning the park and meeting new and regular customers - despite the appalling weather!

Members of the Towpath Tails Dog Park team are delighted to be attending The Pewsey Pawfest on Saturday November 23rd between 11am to 5pm at the Bouverie Hall, sponsored by the Honey's Real Dog Food team. There will be a whole host of other dog related local businesses there as well - trainers, behaviourists, day care and dog walkers, groomers, vets, pet stores and artists, to name just a few.
Do come along and visit us and the other local businesses - it's a FREE to attend event with FREE dog treats, and will be a brilliant day out for dogs and their hoomans.

Thank you to Honey's Real Dog Food for organising the event. Let's get as many of you lovely dogs out there to woof your hoomans along to this event and make it as great as possible. Can't wait to see you all there.

Great to get those extra ZZZzzzs in on Sunday morning as the clocks went back. But it does mean those autumn nights are drawing in even faster, and so the closing time at the park is now 5pm. This still leaves a great big 10hrs per day available to let your paw-fect pups have a blast at Towpath Tails Dog Park.
This week we welcomed a raft of our great regulars as well as the Pomskies party group who met up from far and wide for a play date in The Paddock, and had a ball.
Amazingly we also welcomed Mr Sunshine on Sunday and what a glorious sunrise it was.
But Monty and Hendrix would like to remind all hoomans out there not to fiddle with feeding time just coz the clocks change!!!

A mixed week for weather - but still lots of fun to be had in Towpath Tails. Whether your pups want to tear & bound around or sniff, search and seek out - the witchy wood and grassy grounds make a perfect pooches paradise.

A little deeper into autumn this week and its taking longer for the light to appear in the mornings. So our opening times are needing a tweak and from this week The Coppice and The Paddock at Towpath Tails Dog Park will be open from 7am. We're holding the 7pm close for this week, but you may want to bring a torch if you are the 7am or 6/6.30pm booking.

But whatever the light and weather our customers just love the spaces. This week we're drawing on the hoomans enjoyment of the park - where not only do they get to watch their pooches having an amazing off-lead time, but they also get to have their own tear around the great spaces playing games, or enjoy the "tranquillity of the park, and have their own calm wander and to de-stress" as one of our regulars put it today.

Autumn certainly came in on the wind this week. That doesn't stop our pawfect pups having a blast at Towpath Tails. It does however mean that the nights are drawing in and so we have had to tweak the closing times a little again this week to make sure you can all find your way out of the wonderful wooded park area before it gets dark. Closing time this week will be 7pm.
This week we heard that dog park sites with trees are the most sought after by dog owners and fosterers, and so if you've not visited Towpath Tails before take a look below at the amazing Christmas trees we have - staying beautifully lush all year round, as well as the naturally set native trees we allow to flourish. All of which makes for the most amazing stimulating environment for pups, and a great hide and seek play zone for the young ones.

So - the beautiful late summer sunshine has finally turned to a downpour. Such a shame. Such a wet summer.
But that actually doesn't stop the pups having a blast at Towpath Tails Dog Park. With so much sensory exploration and activity in the trees, on the agility equipment or in the stream. This is how happy the dogs get from a visit to The Paddock or The Coppice.... accompanied by how sleepy they are afterwards ZZZZZzzzzzz.....

This week we've been playing 'Spot the....' at the dog park - Spot the Dog, Spot the Wildlife and Spot the Nature.... and then literally - Spots on the Dogs.
Where else in Wiltshire can you let your pups run free while watching Kites soaring above you, and cones grow on Xmas trees.....

Just a heads up though. if you are visiting Towpath Tails Dog Park this week, that there are some roadworks in the village here and so you need to come in to the park from the south - Easton Royal, Milton Lilbourne or Ram Alley roads and over the railway bridge - as the road in Wootton Rivers is expected to be closed from the A346, Pub side outside the church area.

Welllll.... Sept 1st eh! Where did that time go? Lets hope that this new month brings us some more 'summer sunshine', before the leaves start falling.
But... we do know the nights are already starting to draw in and so we've decided to pull the close time at the park in a little to 8pm, as it's getting a tadge dark out there much after then.
We're still open from 6am though, and so plenty of time to chase a ball, have a splash or play hide and seek in the xmas tree forest.

Welllll - Sept 1st. Where did that time go? Here's hoping we have a lot more 'summer' to come with some nice weather this month. But the nights are drawing in and so we've just started to pull back the closing time at Towpath Tails Dog Park to be 8pm - as it's a tadge dark to be out in the park much after that now. We are still open from 6am - so still lots of hours every day for your pups to have a fab time with you hoomans.
So come along and make splash, chase a ball, or play hide and seek, and maybe your dogs will be sleeping like these 2. Towpath Tails Dog Park - A great place to chill out.

Pups just having fun this week playing chase and hide & seek, at Towpath Tails Dog Park https://fb.watch/mICkCvLHhV/ .... and then - just like magic - you pop a white one in, but a black one comes out. 😂

Do you like cuddling with your pooches? Do you like animals that like cuddling each other? Do you like otters? Well otters love this stretch of canal! Directly next to our dog park is the seemingly infinite stretch of the Kennet and Avon waterway, therefore the session/s that you book with us don't have to be the end of the fun! Fingers crossed, if you take a lovely walk down this way, then otters will be out to play!

For all our train enthusiast customers - the Flying Scotsman No.60103 (#flyingscotsman) will be passing directly alongside Towpath Tails Dog Park tomorrow June 21st as part of its centenary. They are being very sketchy about the timings but the suggestion is it would be passing by the park somewhere between 11.30am and 12.30pm - but this is a real guesstimate and could be earlier or later.
