*100 volunteer hours available for dog rescues/kennels/services*

We are looking to help a passionate and proactive university student who is actively trying to secure a volunteer position working with dogs to aid with his course completion.
He has 100 hours to complete with an immediate start.

Unfortunately we can't facilitate any work experience otherwise we would snap him up ourselves, so we are hoping somebody in our network has a contact at a rescue centre (as I'm sure a lot of them could do with the help at this time of year), kennels or even a larger dog day care/pet services provider who can facilitate.

We are hoping we can help our friends find a new, super special home for Norman this Christmas - his details and circumstances are screenshotted below.

*Please note* although in an ideal world everybody would like to re-home dogs through rescues and centres, the sad reality is that they are inundated at the moment and not every situation calls for adding to that burden. He is currently staying with a very loving family who will responsibly monitor the rehoming process.

I can personally vouch for the love and joy that boxers can bring to your life so if you are considering adding some paws to your family this Christmas please consider this gorgeous boy!

*URGENT UPDATE TO CUSTOMERS*
Unfortunately we are not going to be able to open the doghouse today due to black ice on the roads making it extremely unsafe to drive.

I've attempted to drive in this morning and had 3x very near misses just coming down a hill so I highly recommend everybody stays at home wherever possible today - it doesn't look like a lot of snow but the roads have a tonne of ice.

I'm so sorry if this causes any inconvenience! However safety must always be our number 1 priority ❤️🐾

Our annual Halloween party is a date we thoroughly look forward to every year! And this year was the best one yet 🥳
We are forever grateful to have the best customers (both furry and the non furry ones who pay for the furry ones 🤣).

We are asking our generous and loving Doghouse community to help out a local family who are devasted to have lost their beloved dog... but even more devastated to not be able to bring him home until the extortionate vet bill is paid for 😢

Please help them ease their pain by donating to get him back with his family where he can rest in peace with them ❤️🐾

We've been a little quiet on social media recently, but don't you worry we are still all smiles here 🥰

We've been busy settling some new paws into our packs - which has been a delight! However it does unfortunately mean...

*we are now FULLY BOOKED and will only be able to accept new applications to our waiting list*

We wish we were big enough to bring you all into the family! But we also like to keep our groups small enough so that they all get maximum 1 to 1 attention.

Today's summer party photo shoot was without doubt the best way to celebrate this glorious weather with the doghouse crew! 🥳
This gorgeous bunch had an absolute blast together ❤️🐾

Even though we've barely had a summer so far this year, we still get asked quite frequently 'is it safe to send your dog to daycare while it's hot' and the answer is... it completely depends!

It depends on the temperature, the facilities, the breed of the dog and their ability to self regulate... etc etc

Here is a glimpse into how we make it as safe as possible for our furry friends here at The Doghouse:
● Water. Everywhere! 3x paddling pools, a water trough, 5x water bowls and a cold water hose (which our lot bloody love even in the winter 🤣)
● Access to shaded/cooler areas. We won't go into the garden if their isn't any shade and we keep our doors open to the air conditioned reception area while we are outside playing for the doggos that need to cool down
● Frozen tennis balls/enrichment toys/a freezer full of ice cubes
● Cool concrete floor and air conditioning/dehumidifier inside - we play as much as we can in the morning so that we can relax and stay cool during the afternoon peak heat

If we are at any point concerned about one of our furry residents they will be put in a private area with a cooling mat and fresh ice water until we speak with their pawrents and they can come collect them.

It's adorable watching them play and live their best life but as it always has and always will be... safety first! 🐾🏠❤️

Hi Doghouse Commumity!
I'm reaching out to you today with a bit of a different ask - an urgent one that a fellow dog owner could really do with your help on.
Due to some serious health problems Kingsleys owner is no longer able to take care of him, physically or mentally and the lovely lady who has taken him on in the intermediary works very long hours and has a very demanding schedule so it is breaking her heart that she can't give him what he needs.
We are hoping somebody out there can offer us advice on rescues/fosters/rehomes that may be able to help - as we all know rescues are really struggling with space and funds at the moment so all those we've reached out to are unfortunately unable to help and its becoming quite critical that a solution is found as soon as possible.

Kingsley is 7 now and unfortunately dog reactive - although he is medicated and muzzle trained which makes it a lot more manageable. He is a very affectionate and loving boy who just needs a bit of extra attention and lots of exercise. He has come from a loving home so he is fully registered and up to date with all boosters & treatments.
