Another weekend, another storm!!
We're sorry to say that our final market of the year has been cancelled due to the forecasted high winds on saturday.
We've now lost all 5 days of our Christmas markets to the weather this December 😪
Sorry to all those that were hoping to catch us there but sadly that's it for this years markets.
You can still order on the website for collection orders until monday 23rd December (postal orders will now be delivered after Christmas)

We're so disappointed to inform you that due to an amber weather warning this weekend, Taste Cumbria Christmas market in Cockermouth has been cancelled on both days.
So many people put so much time, effort & hard work into making these events happen, from all the organising team & the many small business owners & traders, making, baking & preparing for a busy weekend of Christmas trade.
Please remember these small businesses when you do your Christmas shopping & if you were heading down this weekend, support them via their websites or social media pages instead 🙏
For us, we'll be at Whitehaven's St Nicholas Church gardens tomorrow from 10am til 4pm & then back in Whitehaven (weather permitting) on sat 21st for the TegRetail Christmas market. Our last 2 Christmas events this year.

Unfortunately Taste @ Cockermouth has been cancelled this weekend due to the forecast of high winds 😒

😞💔 UPDATE: TASTE CUMBRIA CHRISTMAS IS CANCELLED THIS WEEKEND. 😞💔
Regretfully, the decision has been made to cancel the Taste Cumbria Christmas food festival in Cockermouth this weekend.
This is due to a forecast of very high gusts of wind as Storm Darragh is predicted to hit Cumbria hard on Saturday and Sunday. The Met Office has advised that there will be 60 - 70mph gusts in the area from Friday through to Sunday morning. Although Sunday is a little calmer, the wind gusts are still not at a satisfactory level to be able to put gazebos up and safely invite traders and visitors to Cockermouth.
The Supper Club due to take place tonight, Thursday, and the Taste Cumbria Comedy Night planned for Saturday night will still go ahead.
Taste Cumbria event manager Ellie Jones, of Cumberland Council, said: “We are so disappointed that the weekend’s weather forecast has forced us to make this decision.
“However, we have to consider our amazing traders and the town’s businesses who create thousands of products ahead of the event. We can’t see their food, time and money wasted when all the indications are that this is going to be a big storm.
“As event organisers, Cumberland Council's top priority is the health, safety and welfare of our visitors, staff and traders. We’re used to rain in Cumbria, but unfortunately windy conditions can be highly dangerous where gazebos and marquees are concerned.
“Please don’t forget the wealth of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants in Cockermouth. Please pop in and support them, and the rest of the county’s great businesses. Thank you for your understanding – please visit Cockermouth, shop local and have a great Christmas.”

You can park between 11am and 7pm in the following car parks:

📍 Allerdale House
📍 Elizabeth Street

If you're travelling by public transport, there are plenty of transport links into Workington, including the 36, 46, 47, 218, 222, 300, 301, X4, and X5 busses. There are also trains from both Barrow & Carlisle directions approximately every half an hour. 🚍🚂

Once you've placed the order we'll send you a message to arrange a suitable day/time for you to collect.
