Weβre hosting our annual Fun Dog Show this Wednesday from 1-4pm, with a special performance from Crufts winner Heather Smith & The Dancing Dogs. πΆ
Open to dogs of all ages, breed and abilities, the event is set to bring the local community together for a fun day out in aid of giveadogabone.net.
The award-winning charity, which is based in Glasgow, tackles loneliness and social isolation for those over 60 through animal companionship and friendship. They run a financial support project which helps people with the rehoming and ongoing monthly costs associated with adopting an animal, and offer those who canβt commit to owning their own pet the opportunity to spend time with their team of Companionship Dogs at community spaces in Glasgow, Troon and Alloa.
Entry is only Β£1 per category (cash only), with all proceeds donated to Give a Dog a Bone. Pooches can compete for a number of great prizes and lighthearted titles including Cutest Puppy (up to age one), Best Veteran (aged eight and over), Best Condition Dog, Dog Which Looks Most Like Its Owner, Best Trick, Best Sausage Catcher, Best Young Handler (aged six and under), Best Young Handler (aged twelve and under), Best Rescue Dog, Waggiest Tail, Fancy Dress, and Best in Show. There will also be a Doggy Dash and Agility Course, with a sprinkler system to keep dogs cool and hydrated.
There is no need for pre-event registration; entrants can simply come along on the day and express their interest in taking part.
Those looking to treat their dogs can also shop at stalls featuring local goods from the likes of Scoops Ice Cream For Dogs , Armour Vet Group, Bardarroch Animal and Pet Supplies, Lisa Mair Art, The Groomery, Roseburn K9 Hydrotherapy Centre, Laurenβs Book Worms, Fudge and Evies, the British Horse Society, and Zoomies Doggy Delights.
