We currently have two horses in for rehabilitation, both of them are returning from tendon injuries.
During their time here, they have had structured rehab plans, to ensure they have the best chance of not only returning to the racecourse but also reducing the chance of re injury.
This has consisted of 4 weeks of walk work, followed by 8weeks of walk and trot, slowly increasing each day.
Their workload has been varied from flatwork in the ménage to roadwork and hill work.
Alongside this, they have both been going to the water treadmill 2 x per week which they throughly enjoy, this is for 5 weeks so a total of 10sessions at Saywell Equestrian Rehabilitation Centre which is such a fantastic set up.
These pair will both be ready to start cantering August 1st after a full 12 week period of preparation. They are both looking fantastic and I’m very proud of the team for the job they have done 🫶 #slowandsteadywinstherace #rehabilitation #producingwinners #kmracing
Sometimes when things go so right. It makes the tough winter all worthwhile ❤️⭐️🥇 Huge thank you to all our lovely horses, owners, family, friends and the team here at Foxfield stud who all make this happen. I couldn’t be prouder #topteam #kmracing
Shentri flying home to a 20 length victory 🏇✈️
People often ask what happens when it rains with the horses living in pens. As you can see…give them a choice and where would they rather be? They don’t melt in the rain 😂😜 #kmracing #airflow #happyhorses
More of the pointers are starting to come back into work now. It is such an exciting time of year and we are really looking forward to the season ahead, bring on 2023/24 🏇 #gopointing #kmracing
Our second day in 🇮🇪 We spent the morning with Willie Mullins. Such a gentleman and so lovely to be made to feel so welcome. This is our second visit to the yard, the yard has grown a fair amount since our last visit 6 years ago. Tomorrow we head to Gordon Elliott’s yard, followed by Galway races 🐎😃
Soldier of fortune 3yo gelding having his first canter on the round gallop this morning, it clear to see that he is enjoying learning what life is all about 😍🐎 #topteam #breakers #kmracing #producingwinners #bigears
This is the lovely ‘Roy’ a 3yo having his first time cantering under saddle. He joined us just 8 days ago, having been lunged and through the sales ring. We have spent a week long reining, laying across him and just nagging him around the pen and ménage. Today was his first day on the round gallop. What a superstar he’s been so far. He will have another few weeks of education before heading back to trainer Camilla Poulton for owner Louisa Talbot. #topteam #breakers #producingwinners
Whilst the pointers are all enjoying some time off over the summer, it’s been a little quieter than usual around the yard, this does give us time to repaint, organise and improve the yard.
We have a few breakers in at the minute, Danni Harris does a fantastic job of all the ground work with these, which makes Poppy Shaws job on board much easier.
Below is a gorgeous 3yo westerner filly, who we have just started.
We also have ‘Roy’ another 3yo out of the lovely mare popaway by elusive pimpernel.
A 6yo Schiaparelli that came to us 6 weeks ago untouched, her progress is remarkable, she’s cantering away around the round gallop is very forward and easy.
I shall keep you updated on all of their progress over the next few weeks 🐎🙌
We currently have one space left for a breaker/pretrainer, get in touch for more info ☎️
Little did I know this would be the last video I would take of him. 💔
Santon unfortunately sustained a life ending injury last night at Stratford.
Rest easy big man, you were such a favourite around the place and always wore a big smile on your face.
This season has certainly been testing for us all, mostly for the team, Tom and Meisha and the CFR family. I feel so sad today 😢 Thank you for all the messages, I am sorry if I haven’t got back to anyone. 💔💔💔
Today was a schooling day for a couple of the youngsters. Safe to say they didn’t disappoint 👌✈️🐎 we can’t wait for next season already #kmracing #producingwinners #topteam
This lovely Lanwades Stud Sir Percy 3yo filly bred by Swanbridge Bloodstock out of their mare Alasi. ‘Apple’ came to us in the middle of March for Discovery Bloodstock to be broken in and educated.
Her progress has been remarkable, Apple is very intelligent, a fast learner and has taken everything in her stride.
Next week she heads home for a well earned summer break, she will then be sent into training to get ready for an autumn/winter campaign in juvenile hurdles. We can’t wait to follow her progress!
Below is a video of her schooling up the hurdles 🌟 she’s also worked upsides on the grass, in between horses on the all weather gallop, in the string on the round gallop and will happily go anywhere with or without a lead.
🐎 We now have space for some summer breakers and pre trainers 🐎

Great to get a couple of the horses on the grass around the farm yesterday. We are so lucky to have the use of this, it proves invaluable for giving the horses a change of scenery 🐎
Our next runners are on Monday, where we head to Thorpe lodge🤞
Happy Easter everyone 🐣
