We are very excited for Anneka to join us as the Agility judge at the November show!

"Hi I’m Anneka and I’ve been doing agility for 5yrs with my little rescue dachshund Snoopy.

Agility hasn’t always been easy for us and we never thought when we started out that we would be in the ring at competitions or achieving what we have in our training.

Due to Snoopy’s anxiety getting in rings was very difficult and he was bolting and feeling scared in front of other dogs. Over time building one item at a time in the ring, we have been able to make it out to bigger shows and also managed clear confident runs which means the world to us.

We have also been lucky enough to train with a mixture of amazing trainers along our journey, pushing us well beyond our dreams and now smashing 5-7 courses with harder skills.

Our bond has definitely flourished and a big part of that is down to doing agility. This little dog has shown me that any dog can have a go at agility and it’s about the fun together and rosettes are a bonus.

I was also lucky enough to teach beginners agility for a year and it is so amazing to see them now starting to enter the competition world. All I ever wanted was to show people how much fun agility can be and what a cool partnership it can help form.

I look forward to setting some cool courses at the next show and seeing everyone working towards their own goals, even if it’s staying in the ring or not doing zoomies, trust me we have all been there 🤩"

Had you both not pointed the whoopsie out I would have been none the wiser.

I have spent my morning off sorting it so all points have been restored to the rightful owners and I will see you all on the other side of my next rabbit hole to fall down learning even more about Google sheets thanks to my ADHD 🤣🙈🤣🙈

Hi everyone,

Remember that downpour on 22nd September. Unfortunately, it forced us to postpone the final Summer Steeplechase class. We polled the pawsome participants, and the overwhelming consensus was to reschedule rather than risk our furry friends taking a tumble on those treacherous slopes (thanks, Mother Nature!).

Initially, we considered incorporating it into one of our winter shows. However, for many of you who graced us with your presence in September, the winter venue proved a bit too far-flung. So, after some determined digging (metaphorical, of course!), we've unearthed a fantastic indoor facility in Loughborough – much closer to the summer venue.

Now, some of you suggested simply wrapping up the league based on current points. While we appreciate the sentiment, a quick examination revealed a nail-biting situation! Those standings are just too close to call, and a win or even a second-place finish could significantly shake things up. To ensure a truly pawsome champion (and runner-up) in each category, we just had to get creative. (Don't worry, the updated league table is attached for your reference!)

Speaking of creativity, we encountered a bit of a hurdle with our previous sponsor. They weren't thrilled with the rescheduled final class and decided to withdraw their support. But fear not! Within minutes of that news, another fantastic organisation stepped up to the plate. We did, however, have to politely decline their summer league sponsorship as new trophies were already on their way (shiny things are hard to resist!). But fret not, agility enthusiasts – they'll be sponsoring our Winter Steeplechase League! Huge thanks to Agility and More Podcast for becoming our new champions. Haven't given them a listen yet? You absolutely should! Their values perfectly align with ours, and we wouldn't be surprised to see them cheering us on at future shows.

For those who were signed up for the final class, you've all received an email with the new date and venue. We're still waiting to hear from a few of you, so if you'd like to join us on the 3rd of November at Canaan Farm, Loughborough, be sure to email [email protected] asap. The final class will follow the Pinkfox Steeplechase morning, which you can also enter at a discounted rate (the more agility, the merrier, right?).
Speaking of winter, the points for the upcoming league are already live on our website. Exciting news – this year, we'll also be running an Agility League for each grade!

Just a quick reminder, the Steeplechase format remains the same, catering to Pre Intro Mini/Small/Medium, Pre Intro Intermediate/Large, Intro Mini/Small/Medium, Intro Intermediate/Large, and finally, our valiant Veterans class.
And lastly, a friendly (and perhaps slightly sheepish) confession: mistakes happen. While we strive for flawlessness, we're all human (well, Kelly is… the jury's still out on yours truly – sometimes I'm more of a canine catastrophe!). But seriously, if you ever spot a mistake, please don't hesitate to point it out. We appreciate your feedback and want to ensure these shows are all about fun, relaxation, friendly competition, and, of course, supporting our furry friends.

Dog agility enthusiasts living in the east midlands here is a video for you. Independent dog agility shows are a little thin in our area, especially ones that are geared towards KC shows. Bee Happy IDA is just that. We welcome new to competition dogs, providing an environment that is a step below a KC show and one that allows training in the ring. We also welcome new competition to handlers too. We are happy to teach you the ropes so you know what to expect when you do enter a KC show. Having said that there are some big differences between our dog agility competitions compared with a KC show. Our numbers are capped to 130 dogs on the day keeping the show small and less busy. Our courses are designed to be flowing and encouraging for both dog and their handler. And we emphasis that you must have fun whilst attending our shows 😁😁 If you like the sound of that, head over to our website and get your dog registered. Rules surrounding what your dog can wear whilst in the ring. Your dog can only wear a flat collar and nothing is to be dangling off if it. Tags, trackers and bandanas are to be removed from your dog's collar before entering the ring. Also no harnesses or clothing like jumpers whilst in the ring. This rule applies even if you are using your run as Not For Competition (NFC) If your dog runs with any of the above, you will be eliminated so double check before you enter the ring.
