🎽🐾 What’s Coming Up in December with Sporting Paws! 🐾🎽

We promise we’re not mentioning that certain holiday season just yet… 😅 but it’s creeping closer, and we’ve got plenty of runs to keep you and your four-legged teammates moving through the winter months! ❄️

Here’s what’s on the cards:
📍 14th – Whiston Woods, 8:15 am
📍 21st – Pennington Flash, 8:30 am
📍 24th – Hale, 8:30 am
📍 25th – Formby, 9:00 am
📍 26th – Lunt, 9:30 am

Whether you’re chasing PBs, wagging tails, or just enjoying a social trot, every run is a good run with the Sporting Paws crew. 💙

🌀 Times may change depending on weather (and how much festive cheer everyone had the night before 🍷 😉).

Rosie and Eric’s owners bravely took on the fancy dress challenge on their behalf — legends! 🙌

After a quiet period (thanks to the weather, a wasp attack, and a few vet visits 🐝🌧️🐾), we’re back with our Member Spotlight series — sharing a new Sporting Paws member each week! 🙌

This week, we’re celebrating Kat, Dan & Jan! 💙
After being rehomed at 11 months, Jan has gone from farmyard life to suburbia and is absolutely loving her training and Canicross adventures with Kat & Dan. 🐶✨

Their enthusiasm for dogs, socialising, and exercise (in that order! 😉) is infectious — and we can’t wait to cheer them on in their first CaniX race soon! 🏃‍♂️🐕💨

No pictures as we forgot as we where too concerned about a wasp attack when we finished!

What a morning! Huge shoutout to our amazing crew — Rosie, Finn, Jan, Tina, Poppie, Chillie, Eric, Trigg, Indy, and our fabulous newbies Rodney and Besty, who absolutely smashed it! Great way to blow off storm Amy 🎉

🏃‍♂️💨 Rodney, Besty, Finn, and Poppie were the speed demons of the day — taking off like rockets from the start line!
Meanwhile, Jan, Tina, Rosie, and Chillie may have taken the scenic route (entirely my fault 😅) — but all smiles in the end!

🐝 Unfortunately, poor Trigg, Indy, and Eric didn’t even get the chance to start after a surprise wasp attack at the back of the start line. Sending lots of love and hoping they’re all okay and back to their usual happy selves soon. ❤️

Can’t wait to see everyone again for our next social run at Delamere! 🐕🌳

This year, we’ve been so lucky to build such an amazing community of dogs and runners — something that’s been a dream of mine since I was a teenager💙🐕

We headed out to the North East for TrailDogs’ first event of the season—and what a blast it was! 🎉🐾 The course was super fun and perfect for all kinds of dogs. Can’t wait to see more photos from the day and do it all again soon! 🐕✨

With the nights drawing in and the weather slowing our agility down, we’re making the most of autumn with plenty of Canicross socials, a spooky Halloween run, and even a dock diving workshop! 🐕🏃‍♂️💦

🌟 What a day! 🌟

Our first ever Canicross & Aquathlon at Alderford Lake is complete – and we couldn’t be happier with how it went! 🐾💦

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so enjoyable. The focus on dogs’ wellbeing created such a friendly atmosphere, and even the sun decided to show up for us! ☀️🐶

With a last-minute course change and running on a skeleton crew, we were definitely feeling the pressure… but seeing so many smiling faces (and wagging tails!) made it all worth it. ❤️

Special thanks go to:
✨ The team at Alderford Lake, especially Zoe, for working with us to bring this to life.
✨ Our last-minute marshals who stepped up when we needed extra hands.
✨ The amazing for capturing the day on camera.
✨ Tom – our head marshal, sign poster, and even paddleboarder

🌼🏃‍♀️🐾 Ready to kick off spring with a paws-itively awesome adventure? Join us for the Sporting Paws Spring Canicross at Beacon Country Park on Sunday 22nd March 2026!

Whether you’re a seasoned canicrosser or a first timer, this event is perfect for you and your four-legged friend. Expect beautiful trails through woodland and open parkland, a supportive atmosphere, and distances to suit everyone.

🗓️ When: Sunday 22nd March 2026
📍 Where: Beacon Country Park, Beacon Lane, Skelmersdale, WN8 7RU
🎯 Distances:
• Approx. 5 km
• Approx. 2.5 km
• A combo option: 5 km + 2 km
💷 Entry Fees: £18 (single distance) / £30 (combo)
