The gorgeous Wilfred came in today for a check up, can you guess what breed he is?🐶❤️

HINT🔍: They can get up to 86cm in height and can weigh between 80-90kg! 🩺

❗️FOUND DOG❗️

We have had a stray dog handed into us. He was found at the back of St Tydfil shopping centre in Merthyr Tydfil. He is a blue Staffordshire, entire male, approx 3 years old. He is microchipped and we are currently trying to get in touch with the keeper.

UPDATE - SHE IS NOW IN THE CARE OF HOPE RESCUE.

‼️URGENT APPEAL FOR INFORMATION‼️

We have had a female brown and tan dachshund handed into the practice and she has been presented with injuries. She is not microchipped. She was found in the McDonald’s car park in the Cyfartha Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil.

We are urgently asking the owner to contact us as soon as possible. If you believe she could be yours or have any information, please contact us on 01685 385117.

Unfortunately, we have had a deceased female cat handed into the practice. She is black with a white chest and white stripe on her left hind leg. She does not have a collar and is not microchipped. She was found in Pant on prime rose close.

‼️ FOUND FEMALE FRENCH BULLDOG ‼️

We currently have a female, cream coloured and very friendly French Bulldog in the clinic.

Found outside Cyfartha Park!

She is microchipped, however, the details are unfortunately unavailable for us to view with the chip company as they are shut for the weekend and have no online service.

She will stay with us until we shut at 2pm and then will be taken to the relevant weekend kennels as we are not staffed 24/7.

We have had a Female Lurcher type dog handed to the practice, she is chipped but we cannot get hold of the owners

She is receiving treatment for an injured leg.

🐶🐱 May is Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month! 🐱🐶

This is the month where we appreciate and highlight our wonderful team of Registered Veterinary Nurses and Student Veterinary Nurses who work tirelessly to ensure your pets are happy and healthy! We will introduce our nurses and what they love to do and why they love nursing throughout the month.

Did you know nurses are trained and able to do the following?

🐶 Take bloods samples and analyse the samples!
🐱 Place Intravenous Catheters for patients undergoing anaesthetics and for fluid therapy!
🐭 Analyse urine samples and detect crystals and bacteria!
🐹 Monitor patients undergoing anaesthesia!
🐰 Provide nurse clinics for pets including specialist clinics on weight, nutrition and diabetes, plus much more!
🦊 Some surgeries such as dental scale and polishes, lump removals, suturing wounds and even tail amputations!

And so so much more!!

Veterinary Nurses undertake many years of intense training and afterwards, many undergo extra certificates to gain further knowledge and qualifications in specific areas.

Veterinary Nurses are extremely valuable and hard working members of the Veterinary team and we are so proud to have such a fantastic team in our practice.
