The route that we use to hack onto the college field has had the chicane narrowed, which means horses can no longer fit through. The landowners have done this to stop the motorbikes. Unfortunately it doesn't stop them at all; just horses.

This is really detrimental to our business as it means that although situated with direct off road access to the hills, we don't have any access to the bridleway in the country park. We have no where left to ride as the other routes are inaccessible.

We have ridden the route for well over 20 years and because of that we can apply to have it changed to a bridleway. In order to do that we need as many witness statements as possible to say they have ridden this route. We would be really grateful if anyone could fill in a statement document. They are all paper format. We can get one to you or you can collect one from reception here.

RIDING LESSONS FOR 4-7 YEAR OLDS

What happens in our Tiny Tot Group Riding Lessons ?

Our tots lessons teach children how to mount and dismount correctly. They learn how to ride in the correct position and give the pony the correct signals for stopping, starting and steering. Riders learn how to trot (rising and sitting) and negotiate ground poles. In time they will learn how to jump small fences and canter. This is all done at first with a ground leader for support (if needed) and/or use of another horse with an experienced rider as a lead file. We are always working towards independent riding and this is encouraged gradually.

Beyond the riding itself there are many other benefits to our group tots lessons. The riders count various objects in the arena (such as cones), learn to recognise the letters around the arena and the colours of objects (such as poles). Riders identify various shapes as they ride them through school movements. They learn to work as a team with the other riders and enjoy the social aspect of the group experience.

We run 40 min group lessons for those age 4-7 on a Saturday and a Sunday. Our lessons are held in an indoor arena. The max number of tots in each session is 6.

After your child’s initial Tiny Tot lesson we require a block booking to be made. The cost is £20.00 per lesson. Some months will have 4 weeks and be £80.00 total and some will be 5 weeks and be £100 total.

Lessons are to be paid for in advance, on the last lesson of each month, in order to maintain your child's place in the group for the following month. If lesson is missed/ cancelled (regardless of reason) during your block booking you forefeit that payment and no monies will be reimbursed.

Learn massage techniques that aid relaxation and bond with your favourite riding school pony!

Wed 20th Nov 6.30pm-7.45pm

Gina Cook - Veterinary Physiotherapy will be giving a hands on veterinary physiotherapy talk where she will discuss assessing a horse, massage techniques, stretching, heat therapy and laser. You will be able to spend a full hour with your pony having a go at these techniques and completing some in hand strength and conditioning exercises - with a focus on polework.

This activity is for those who do not have their own pony and the price includes the pony for the activity. Each person will be able to choose their pony from the list below (be quick before your favourite goes!)

This a lovely relaxing way to spend quality time with the ponies and start to develop a new skill. This event will take place in the indoor arena. You will also be able to take your pony back out into their field at the end of the session.

Those who attended the previous event are welcome along with newcomers. This event is now limited to 12 participants to allow Gina to spend more time with each pony and handler.

£17.00

This is a non-ridden activity. Appropriate footwear and hats must be worn. Open to existing and new customers. Minimum age 8 years. Please send a message to book (comments do not show up in order) and have your pony choice ready on booking. No spectators will be permitted.
