Home visits for small pets

I am a one person business so your pet and I can build a trusting happy relationship I am fully insured, DBS checked and hold a current canine first aid cert. I take small group walks on the local hills for a minimum of one hour or solo walks tailored to your dogs needs. I am available for home visits for dog toilet breaks and company. So many dogs at the moment needing loving forever homes. Local rescue

Time of year perhaps?
Christmas looming, vet bills rising, media scare with electricity bills or just the general cost of living rising like it is.

I’ve turned away 11 dogs this week. 11.
And it’s only Thursday.
I know I simply can’t help them all but I can’t help but worry about the ones I can’t physically fit in.
It just seems relentless at the moment.

We have SO many dogs here needing their forever family, all child friendly except 2 that need older children.
All house trained.
All well mannered, although some need more help with training than others when out and about.

Do you know anyone wanting a companion?

If you aren’t looking yourself, could you maybe share the posts to help try find some of our dogs their forever homes?

We have 7 medium to large breed dogs aged 4-9 and also 3 of Luna’s puppies aged 11 weeks, still looking for their forever homes due to various reasons.

My Story

My name is Karen Harvey. I took voluntary redundancy from my office job of 29 years in 2014 to change my life to something I enjoy doing - spending my days with animals and walking.

I am fully insured, DBS checked, hold a canine first aid certificate

I cover Nunthorpe, Marton, Ormesby and Coulby Newham areas

Group walk £10

I take fun, active, group walks, max 4-5 dogs (if 2 dogs from the same family) on the local hills, woodland or occasionally the beach for 60-80 min walking time. Group walks are pick up 9:30am and either 12 or 1pm. You should expect your dog to be out of the house for at least two hours. Prior to your dog joining our group walk I will take your dog for a free courtesy walk locally to your home to get to know each other and check suitability of walking in a pack. Bossy or reactive dogs are not suitable for this type of walking. Timid or shy dogs can be introduced on selected walks and soon are usually very happy joining any regular walk

Solo walk £15

I am available for solo walks tailored to your dogs needs prior to 9:30 and after 3pm

Pop in service from £8

I am available for home visits for dog toilet breaks and company

I also offer pop ins for cats, small furries including rats, chickens etc. for company, litter /cage cleaning.

My van has four specialist built cages with escape hatches and ventilation. I carry a canine first aid kit, portable dog shower, towels and supply my own dog leads (cheaper than replacing yours as I lose so many), poo bags and treats. Dogs on group walks wear a Nunthorpe Dog Walking ID disc

I have lived with animals all my life - 60 years. My animal family has included dogs (always), hamsters, guinea pigs (always), rabbits, rats, chickens, fish. I have reared and rehabilitated various wildlife over the years. They are my life
