This little man did so well today on his first big boy haircut today. His mum has worked so hard to get him used to being brushed and handled and it’s paid off. He took it all in his stride and even looked like he dozed off at one point whilst being dried (I couldn’t see his eyes under all the fluff! 😂) 🐾🐶

That’s a wrap for 2023 for me. Thank you all so much for the very kind and generous gifts, cards and tips that you gave me this Christmas, they are very much appreciated. Apologies to any one who passed the salon and heard me singing along to Christmas songs this last month, it makes the dogs wags their tails anyway 😂.
Now it’s time to rest my hands a bit and spend some quality time with my family. I wish you all a very happy Christmas and festive period, see you in 2024 🎄🎅🏻🥳🍾🐶🐾

I’m very sad to say that we had to say goodbye to our baby boy Kaiser last week. He gave us 12 years of joy and love. He has taught me so much and he has been the best big brother to our 3 boys. The house is so quiet and empty without him and I’m never going to get use to not being greeted by him when I come home. I only hope he is now with one of his favourite people, annoying him with his frisbees and running around pain free again.
Until we meet again big lad 🐾💔

As requested by many of my lovely customers recently……. I now stock bottles of the fragrances that I use at the end of your dogs grooms. I love Hollywood on my smelly old man dog to keep him fresh smelling between baths

Happy new year everyone 😁
Just a quick note to say that I will be cutting down on working Saturdays this year. With 3 young children I just don’t get enough family time working every Saturday like I have done since starting the business. So if you require Saturday appointments please make sure you book well in advance and even block book multiple appointments so that you get the slots you need. I won’t be taking on any new dogs that require Saturday only appointments so they will be saved for my regular Saturday dogs.

One of the gorgeous boys that I groomed this afternoon 😁🐾
As life seems to be getting a little closer to normality the personal calendar is filling up and my weekends are getting busy with family events and weddings. I only work Saturday afternoons due to my sons sports commitments, and I have Saturdays that I will be closed due to occasions. If you require a Saturday appointment please book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Saturday slots go fast so I’d advise booking a few in advance and I will only give Saturday slots to people who cannot do weekdays at all. I hope you are enjoying the sunny spring days this weekend? ☺️🐾

My old boy turned 11 years old today. He’s certainly looking and feeling his age more than ever. He’s still handsome with his grey hairs and wonky ears. He has enjoyed some doggy wine and treats today to celebrate 🐾🥂

Fresh paws has stepped into Christmas this week. Decorations, festive pawfume, festive bandanas or bows, gifts for the dogs and Christmas cracker treats for sale in the shop. I will be sending out reminders for appointments the evening before to allow for a smooth running December. This is the best time of year 😁🎄🎅🏻✨🐾

I’m back from my family holiday now. I’ve stopped taking on any new clients for the last few months so that my regulars could get the appointments that they needed. I will readdress this from September

The best start to the week this morning having my biggest fan drag his owner into my salon to give me cuddles and kisses all the way through his groom. There are still parts of grooming that this little man doesn’t enjoy but he has come so far in the last year🥰🐶🐾

Lovely day spent with these pair of fluffy bears. 7 hours spent giving them a well overdue groom with lots of cuddles and treats. Their wagging tails left smelling sweet and with much less fluff 🥰🐾

I didn’t put up photos of my grooms during lockdown as it didn’t feel right on the dogs who were not classed as welfare grooms. So i have become very lazy at taking photos 😂 these are a selection of some of my grooms so far this year. As usual I don’t include the dogs names for their safety. I will try harder to take more photos in future so don’t be offended if your dog isn’t on here.
I’m so happy to be back fully grooming and busy again. I strongly advise regular customers to prebook their dogs next appointments to guarantee appointments as May and June are filling up fast 🐶🐾

Deshed day yesterday for 3 dogs who have missed their regular deshed groom due to lockdown. Fair to say the salon required a deep clean afterwards. My new head gear to stop hairs getting everywhere worked a treat even if I did look very daft 😂

Sorry that I’ve been quiet on here for a while. But I’m finally back to normal appointments from Monday 👏🏻🐶🎉
I have a waiting list to get through to give appointments to but get in touch if you need your dog grooming anytime soon. It may be worth being organised with booking in required grooms for April whilst I catch myself up x

Ok so it seems that dog groomers can remain open during this lockdown, but only to groom welfare cases. This does leave allot for interpretation and there’s so much conflicting advice about, but I believe that we all have to do our part to make this lockdown successful. If that means dogs looking a bit more scruffy or being smelly then so be it. So I am asking all of my clients who have dogs booked in with me to consider if they class their dogs groom as crucial to their dogs welfare or if it can be put off a little longer?

I will be classing the following as welfare cases that I can groom during lockdown:
🐶dogs that have matted or heavily knotted coats (please do keep brushing your dogs coat at home to attempt to avoid matts forming)
🐶dogs who have skin issues and have been vet referred as grooming will reduce discomfort
🐶 dogs who have hair growing into their eyes
🐶 dogs who’s nails are ingrowing as they are so over grown and curved round into the pad so will be causing discomfort

So basically dogs who will be in discomfort if not groomed before the end of lockdown!

You also need to consider if your journey to drop off or collect your dog is classed as essential. Maybe by making it part of your allowed daily exercise or on your way to do an essential food shop maybe.

Please get in touch to let me know if you feel you need to keep your dogs grooming appointment with me or not.

I will be reducing the amount of days that I will be open so I may need to move your appointments around. I also will not be taking on any new clients during this lockdown.

This lockdown is going to be hard on my business, I won’t be getting any financial help saying open to do welfare grooms but I feel that I can’t abandon the dogs that really need me. Fingers crossed this lockdown won’t go on too long and that we will be in a brighter place after it. Stay safe and please get in touch if you need advice with caring for your dogs coat at home.
