It’s official, I’m on the map!

My posh Level 2 Advanced Canine Pregnancy Ultrasound certificate has arrived! Therefore, as an Animal Ultrasound Association accredited Gold member I can be now be found on the official AUA map of properly qualified scanners 🙌🏽 🙌🏽

I performed a pregnancy confirmation scan this morning and these are the images the owner/breeder will generally receive after their scan. I will carry out several measurements on more than one embryo to give an estimated due date so they can plan ahead for the birth. I also add any cool video footage that I was able to collect (dependent on the wriggliness of the mum 😂!).

On later pregnancies I may also be able to record foetal heart rate and send a little sound clip which is always appreciated too.

I’m delighted to have been told following my Level 2 Advanced Canine Pregnancy Ultrasound course with the Animal Ultrasound Association that I passed the assessment with 100%!

As a result of passing Level 2, I look forward to becoming a full member of the Animal Ultrasound Association and belonging to a community of certified ultrasound professionals.

Lovely to see these healthy pups on the outside of mum’s tum after scanning them at 5 weeks gestation! Arrived “on time” and looking beautiful 🤩

I completed a Canine Pregnancy and Whelping course with Pupstarts Breeders to further improve my knowledge and understanding of the subject, and continue to support my clients.

I have lots of plans for training and further qualifications- always learning!

Smooshing puppies is one of the best parts of my job! Look at this absolute cutie I met during a busy morning at Imperial Labradors- Cheshire yesterday!

Still aiming for that perfect skull shot but got close with this one! You can see the separation between the two hemispheres of the brain which allowed me to make a more accurate due date measurement 🤓. Also got a quick heart rate reading showing it was within a healthy range. Thankyou Emma Stevens for asking me to scan your lovely spaniel and congratulations on the happy news!

Travelled up to Cumbria this evening to scan a beautiful working spaniel and give her owners the happy news that pups are due 🥰.

Booking a mobile scan allowed the owners to fit me in around their toddler’s evening routine and their other dogs without having to make a trip out. And I enjoyed scenic drive!

Delighted to confirm a gorgeous working Labrador in pup this morning, this will be her last chance for a litter so we had our fingers crossed! Such a privilege to be the first to see them at the start of their lives 🥰. Mum gets a little stressed being handled so allowing her to lounge on the sofa with her owner gave us the best chance of putting her at ease. The benefits of a mobile service!I don’t promise litter numbers but I say what I can see! This looks like a small litter and I’ll be popping back to see how they’re progressing soon.

Two pregnancy scans and a litter microchipped today, which neatly filled the school day - busy busy 🥰!

I forgot to take a picture of the scrumptious litter of black lab puppies I chipped over near Manchester; all happy and healthy, and nearly ready for their lucky new homes. So here’s a photo of our new addition at home instead, little Pickle 😍
