💫 Meet the team week 2! 💫

Please meet Adam! 🤩 Adam is one of our lovely regular locum vets! 👨‍⚕️ Adam grew up in a house filled with animals- dogs, cats, rabbits and even pet snakes so it was almost inevitable he was going to go into veterinary medicine! 💊

In his spare time he enjoys a variety of different hobbies including walking his stubborn shiba inu dog Kitsu 🐕 swimming 🏊🏻‍♂️ , travelling 🧳 , growing vegetables 🌽 and snorkelling 🤿

Bees!! 🐝

In most cases, a bee or wasp sting will cause some mild pain and irritation but will not need any vet treatment.

However….! They can sometimes be more serious, so it’s best not to let your dog play with them.

Here’s some symptoms to look out for!

📣 Whining

📣 Holding up paw (if stung on paw)

📣 Drooling

📣 Pawing at face or where sting went in

📣 Swelling

📣 Hives (red, swollen itchy skin)

What to do if your dog or pet has been stung.

🩺 Remain calm

🩺 Apply ice

🩺 Bathe area in water

🩺 Scrape out sting or pull it out below poison sac

🩺 Closely observe and call your vet immediately if at all concerned
