For those of you who don't know me, hi 👋 I'm Lou, Owner & Groomer at The Barking Barnet. But more importantly, here are just a few of the wonderful dogs I've groomed over the years (I'm terrible at taking pictures of myself!) including my very own Geoffrey, who many of you will know.

Geoffrey turned 3 years old recently and had been by my side as I've finished my OCN Endorsed Professional Dog Grooming training, opened up the doors to The Barking Barnet, relocated The Barking Barnet (don't worry, we only moved 1.5 miles down the road), and is still here every day offering a friendly woof and waggy tail to the clients who walk through my door.

My books have been full for the last 6 months or so with regular clients but I'm looking forward to welcoming a few new friendly faces over the next few months as more of my time becomes avaliable. And Geoffrey can't wait to meet you too 🐾

As part of our family holiday in Kefalonia we visited DORIS - ARK Animal Rescue Kefalonia yesterday to meet the 220 stray dogs and countless cats that are being cared for there.

To say they're doing an incredible job is an understatement!

Joyce, one of the volunteers, took time out of her busy day to show us around. We were blown away with all the work they do 🥰🥰🥰 The animals of Kefalonia are lucky to have them 🐾

Juno's two and has never been to the groomers before. Despite this, he did amazing with his bath and blow dry today and even braved a face tidy so he can see out of those gorgeous eyes.

🛁 B I D D Y 🛁 Safe to say Biddy was super happy with her introduction groom 👍 Could that tail be wagging any more?! A gentle bath & blow dry's a great way to introduce your pup (or older dog!) to the groomers if they've never been before. Costing from just £20 🐾

☀️ The weather's HOT, HOT, HOT this week ☀️ While I'll be assessing each days suitability for grooming as it comes, I have plenty of measures in place to ensure my wonderful clients 🐶 are comfortable throughout their groom: ✔ Air con, as always, will be on ✔ Cool water only will be used for bathing ✔ Dryers will be on cool ✔ Water, as always, will be on tap at all times ✔ Extra breaks will be factored in for each groom I'll also ask that hot pavements are avoided on route to The Barking Barnet, and that people carry or bring their dogs via air conditioned car. I'll be in touch direct with anyone who has an appointment if there are any changes! Meanwhile, you'll find me cooling off in the grooming cabin too ❄❄❄
