Another great 2 sessions of Superheroes reactivity class today (even in the cold weather). Lots of hard work from all the dogs and humans, with dogs working and getting closer than ever before!
My fellow trainer Marie from @leadon121 did a brilliant job of running things with some of the dogs and I spent some time working with others, so nobody was left out at any point. We welcomed some new paws to the group and also had help from a shadowing trainer.
Very happy with the progress that everyone is making and clearly our superheroes are putting the work in every day outside class. Already looking forward to the next months class

Puppy Biting: Puppies are cute, but sometimes they can be absolute monster's! 🤣
Puppy biting is something that always comes up and it can be really unpleasant to deal with. Spending time with Feta is really reminding me how painful it is.
When they are in a bitey piranha mode 🦈 it's generally due to a few things:
🐾 Hunger/Thirst
🐾 Tiredness
🐾 Needing the toilet
🐾 Feeling anxious/ scared
Run through these options and it should help find the cause of the biting.
⭐ Always keep a chew or soft toy within reaching distance.
Puppies can chew for around 4/5 hours a day! We will never stop them chewing, but we want to direct them onto the right things to chew rather than human flesh
⭐Remember "Don't chew that. . . Chew this!"
⭐Try not to scream, punish or make a scene as it only makes things more exciting for them
It does get better in time, but it is hard.

Newest arrival little baby Feta 🧀 He has been glued to me since he arrived last night and I'm completely in love. I spent all night snuggling him 🥹 Typical lovely and lively little puppy, exploring everything and full of beans.
We don't know much about him, only that he was found in the street and was being cared for by a very kind local person.

Catch the treat game for loose lead walking training
🐾 Aim to drop the treat onto the dogs nose
🐾 If they don't catch the treat try using something more appealing to them and they will catch it (trust me 🙂)
