🐾 Greenacres Animal Rescue Needs Home Checkers! Could You Help? 🐾

Want to make a difference for animals in need? Greenacres Animal Rescue is looking for Home Checkers to help more pets find loving homes faster. This is an amazing opportunity to support your community and make sure every animal is heading to a safe, happy home.

As a home checker, you’ll play a key role in the adoption and fostering process. The quicker they can approve homes, the quicker these animals can start their new lives. ❤️

👉 What they are Looking For:

Reliability –People who can attend home visits as arranged.

Good Communication – You’ll be liaising with both adopters/foster carers and the rescue team.

Basic Knowledge – Familiarity with rescue or rehoming procedures is a bonus!

Timely Feedback – Quick, clear feedback after each visit helps Greenacres move animals to homes without delay.

By giving just a little time, you’ll be making a huge difference in how quickly animals are fostered or adopted. If you’re interested follow the link to the Green acres page. Together, we can make sure every animal finds a safe, loving home sooner.

🐾 Homecheckers Needed! 🐾

Location: Pembrokeshire, Carmarthen, and Ceredigion Areas

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our small team of homecheckers! As our applications continue to grow, your support can make a significant difference in our rehoming process.

Homechecks are a crucial step in ensuring our animals find loving homes, and we aim to complete these checks as promptly as possible.

Requirements:

- Reliability: Your commitment to timely homechecks is essential. Delays can prolong the time animals spend in our care.
- Prompt Communication: You should be able to contact the applicant within 24 hours of receiving their information to arrange a mutually agreeable time for the visit.
- Knowledge of Procedures: Be prepared to discuss our centre's requirements and procedures during the visit.
- Timely Feedback: Please return all feedback to the rehoming team as soon as possible to facilitate efficient processing of applications.
- Advisory Skills: You should feel confident in providing constructive advice or suggestions if necessary.

🎆 Poppy's Pet Care Tips for a Safe & Calm Bonfire Night with Your Pets! 🎆

Bonfire Night can be fun for us, but all those bangs, flashes, and whizzes can be pretty overwhelming for our furry friends. Here are some top tips to help keep your pets calm and cosy as the fireworks go off! 🌌🐾

🌟 Create a Cosy Retreat Set up a quiet, comfortable space where your pet can relax. Fill it with their favourite toys, blankets, and maybe even some soothing music or a pet-safe diffuser. Having a snug, safe spot can make all the difference if they need to retreat from the noise.

🐕 Get in that Daytime Exercise If you’re walking the dog, aim for daytime strolls and give them a good run to burn off energy. An early walk before dark is a great way to avoid evening fireworks and helps them feel settled when it's time to come inside.

🔇 Reduce Noise & Light Close curtains and windows to help muffle those sudden noises and bright flashes. Pop on the TV or radio to add some normal background sound – a calm household can help keep anxiety at bay!

🌈 Stay Calm & Collected Pets pick up on our vibes, so try to keep a relaxed atmosphere. If your dog needs to hide, let them stay where they feel safe – no forcing them out for cuddles. Just being nearby is often enough to help them feel reassured.

🍖 Offer Tasty Distractions Healthy treats or chew toys can be a fantastic distraction for anxious pets. A little bit of foraging or a chewy snack can help keep their mind busy and create a positive association during the fireworks.

🏠 Don't Leave Them Alone If possible, make sure you’re around on Bonfire Night, or if you have to go out, leave them in good company. Keeping your pet company while they deal with the noise can make them feel less stressed.

💬 Microchip & Tag Check In case your pet gets spooked, double-check that their microchip details are up to date, and make sure they’re wearing an ID tag – peace of mind for you, just in case!

👩‍⚕️ Speak to Your Vet If your pet has shown signs of fear during fireworks before, have a chat with your vet. They can advise on helpful solutions, from calming aids to behaviour tips, so your pet can face future events more comfortably.

🌟 Just completed my first overnight pet sit with the wonderful Daisy! 🌟

Now, Daisy is usually a bit of a worrywart when her parents are away – she's an anxious little soul, bless her! But after months of regular visits (and plenty of cuddles) she finally sees me as one of the family. This was her very first night with me, and she was good as gold 🏆💛

Daisy’s folks have been easing her in slowly, and last night, they could finally enjoy a night away without a second thought. Just me and Daisy, chilling, cuddling, and watching the world go by… though I think she hogged most of the sofa! 😂

If your pet needs a bit of reassurance too, I’m here to help! 🐶💤 Pet sitting starts from just £36 per night, and I’ll treat them like my own. 🐾 Just give me a shout! 🐾
