Nice little stretch to finish off a sunny Saturday! Post & 2 rail with Tornado Wire Ltd R8/80/22 all pressure treated creosote timber. A smart boundary to keep farmhouse separate from farm yard. A couple of gates re-used from a previously removed stretch of fence. All material supplied direct to customer by Ladds Ironmongers.

After a busy week, which hasn’t all gone to plan! I’m about halfway through this 1000m job of R8/80/22 ‘Lambsafe’ netting with 2 strands of Titan barbed wire all on UC4 timber to make this land stockproof again. New 13ft gates also being installed, materials all supplied by direct to site!

Few pics of the second project in Kent last week! Finished off today by & ! Just over 150m of R8/80/15 with a mixture of 2 plain wire or 2 titan barbed strands depending on location! All on locally sourced chestnut timber With 1.2m rabbit net attached and pegged down to customers specifications! Should try and keep some 🐇 of the village cricket pitch 🏏 good effort from everyone clearing and re instating the fence!

Been a little bit quiet on here lately, been a busy few weeks all in all. Currently working away in Kent alongside Mike Keeley Agri Services, current job is 400m+ of Tornado Wire Ltd R8/80/15 with 2 strands of Titan barbed wire all in some chunky chestnut timber, split half round posts keeping the job interesting! A few days away from getting paid to fence to put one up for free teaming up with Peter Redgwell PDR Contracting Ltd again at the APF 2024 in the McVeigh Parker Farm and Fencing Suppliers British open fencing competition and speed fencing comps! Thursday started well with a second place finish in the speed competition erecting clipex fencing against the clock! Friday was the open, always a challenging competition! Very happy with the way our fence turned out, but unfortunately time got the better of us, missing out on the top 4 this time, but that’s competition fencing.

Congratulations to MJ Evans Fencing & Nic Quan for taking the top spot! and to Si Gibbs and John Morgan on second and Charlie Wright and Luke Gibson for coming in third.

A brilliant week catching up with some really good friends! A lot of us work alone day in day out so having a catch up with some like minded individuals does wonders for mental health, the UK fencing community is something to be proud of.

Congratulations to everyone who took part! The standard is always getting higher with any one of the teams being in contention.

Onward and upwards to the next one!

Nice day at the first ‘FENCE FOR FRAZER’ competition at the Llandyfaelog show! A brilliantly put together competition, all for a fantastic cause! Chuffed to come away with the win 🥇 🥇 against some very good competition! Thanks to PDR Contracting Ltd for travelling from Essex to team up with me! Thanks to Sam Gardener & James John for organising such a good day! Bring on next year!

🐎 🐎 🐎 First Stretch of this 800+m of this HorseRail job. 2 new track systems going in to help ease pressure on paddocks. 4” HotTop top rail, with HotCote lower line, all able to be electrified to make it a safe, strong and long lasting solution for equestrian applications. All on pressure treated creosote timber to make a long lasting fence!

Just shy of 200m of Tornado Wire Ltd R8/80/22 with 2 strands of Titan barbed wire on top. Chunky reclaimed telegraph poles for strainer and pressure treated creosote timber from Ladds Ironmongers elsewhere. Nice run in some challenging Pembrokeshire ground conditions (as you can see from the last photo) 🙈 pleased with the way this one’s gone in even with the hard ground.

It’s not all big jobs, the small ones matter just as much! Creating a small paddock here for this customer. Tornado Wire Ltd R8/80/22 with 2 strands of Titan barbed wire on pressure treated creosote timber, finished off with a 12ft Ritchie Agricultural half mesh field gate all supplied by Ladds Ironmongers.

Little job this morning before heading off to have some teeth pulled 🦷 this afternoon 😣! Pair of Estate 5 bar gates supplied by Ladds Ironmongers, hung on existing concrete gate pillars, replacing a tired old metal field gate to make this 14ft entrance look a bit smarter!

Relocate, reuse, recycle ♻️ just over 300m of R8/80/22 with 2 strands of Titan barbed wire. Majority of materials reused from a fence installed a couple of years ago for this customer, but had to be relocated to allow a new track to be installed. Few extra bits from as the new fence is slightly longer! Happy with the way this one has turned out! Would like to wish all the best for the future in their new location, they have been a great support to me over the years in both business and friendship!

SRM Fencing is proud once again to support , Agriculture in all its forms is the backbone of the rural way of life and economy! I know I say it every year but agriculture and food production supports more than just farming families, contractors, vets, advisers and many more all rely on agriculture to support their families. I’m very lucky to have predominantly agricultural customers, so I get to see the hard work and dedication that goes into producing high quality food for us all, a job we should all be thankful for! Their management of the land is the reason we have such beautiful landscapes in the UK!

Nice little run of Tornado Wire Ltd R10/90/8 finished off with ‘Hottop’ rail from Horserail making a strong, safe fence for horses to graze up against, which also has the benefit of being electrified! ⚡️ ⚡️. Pressure treated creosote timber & netting from Ladds Ironmongers!

In between the Nappy changes and sleepless night (of which I’m managing to sidestep most 😂) managed to get a couple of short work days in! About 100m of R10/90/8 with single half round creosote rail on top. All on pressure treated creosote timber supplied by . Few more stretches to do here, to get this place safe for horses!

🥈🥈 After a busy week growing my family! My ever understanding wife gave me a pass to go to Ireland to compete in the Irish National Stock Fencing Competition with Peter Redgwell. Weather was kind, but I keep forgetting how hard these comps are! Chuffed to have come 2nd! 🥈. Congrats to & on coming away with the top spot! All fences completed to a high standard!
