Let’s talk Mud Fever - prevention is much better than having to cure it - but don’t worry we can do both 🤎

There are a few things that can compromise your horse’s skin and lead to mud fever taking hold.
🛑Standing in muddy or wet conditions for long periods
🛑Standing in dirty bedding
🛑Regularly washing the legs, especially if you don’t dry them afterwards
🛑Having broken or damaged skin due to a wound, such as an overreach injury.

Lots of you are starting to think about clipping ✂️ or may have done so already……

🧼 preparation is key - a clean horse makes clipping so much easier for the horse and the clippers.

🍃 AlvaTeaTree shampoo is great for lifting all of the dirt and grease from the coat.
💦AlvaCleanse can also be used if you don’t have time for a full shampoo. The TeaTree and grapefruit cuts through the dirt & grease whilst the lavender leaves them smelling great and oat kernel extract a lovely soft coat.

Once you have clipped consider hot clothing with a capful of AlvaSweet to sooth that after clip itch 🌿
