Crappy couple of days here at BeeMoreDog with the van braking down on Wednesday evening.
2 days of cancelled work.π
But good news this afternoon me and Sisko are here to collect the van.
(we won't mention the £££ π±)
Sisko always likes to join me on the walk to the garage and of course to check out if the waiting room is a good training place!

What is your favourite trick to do with your dog?
I love working with Sisko in different environments and he loves to do a boomerang/ go around trick.
Check him out, thinking for himself and working out I wanted him to go around the tires and not the ramp.

We spend time training our dogs in classes and/or in 121 sessions and then don't continue into the real world. Why?
As a trainer I'm always told "they can do it in class/ at home" And I'm sure they can!
But I'm also sure with a little bit of help they could do it just as well in the big wide world too.
They just need you to help them generalise the behaviour/cue to all locations / environments.
We call this Proofing the behaviour.
Proofing a behaviour/cue is key for the dogs to understand what you are wanting / asking for in all environments and not just where the learnt it.

Archer really has mastered his loose lead walking now and even when he get a little excited and gose ahead he quickly pops himself back in the right place to continue walking.
The gentle giant was a huge puller, now is a joy to walk.

So we have been working on playing fireworks thoughtout the house at random times and not always paired with food.
We have moved on to them playing in the garden while he is walking about doing his doggy thing and he is not bothered by them at all.
I havent used food outside but he does have the sensory garden with some calming plants which he loves.π
Next step will exposure to the sound at night when. It is dark outside in the garden.
