Today I had a scan booked for a bulldog. They arrived and I went out to my garage, ready to scan. Imagine my horror when a woman with a bulldog walked to the middle of my opposite neighbours lawn. I called out "please come off there" she replied "my dog wants to toilet" to which I said something like "please come off" and the dog dropped a poo. I basically said I couldn't believe that she'd gone onto their lawn and allowed her dog to go there! Said the people have small children. She was very rude, said I was disgusting and my house was disgusting and said she'd leave me a terrible review!
I was basically shocked to the core. I feel I should warn other scanners. Lee Weldon- Davis booked the scan and I'm guessing his wife was the woman I encountered ( he went to the door to apologise but I told him the neighbour was out )
Please look out for this woman and I wouldn't scan for them

How many puppies, due date, whether they're likely to be early. Do you know that head first or hind feet first are normal presentations. Not breech! 50% of puppies are born hind feet first!

PetScan has been running for 30 years this year scanning dogs, cats, horses, llamas, cows and many other animals. Given talks to vets and doctors in Harrogate, Cavalier king Charles Club, Goat breeders.

I've never had a bitch or queen I needed to shave or clip fur, stressed out, restrained or upset. They seem to know I understand them and are calm, generally relaxed because I take my time to allow them to get to know me.

The reason I set it up in 1989 was because I'd recently had a bitch which had had a phantom pregnancy. Fooling both a seasoned breeder and my vet. It was so worrying for about 4 days and ended with an x-ray proving she wasn't pregnant

Having broken my elbow, I sat waiting for an x-ray and watched pregnant mum's coming out, proudly showing off their ultra sound pictures and wondered why we weren't scanning dogs when we'd been scanning mum's routinely for many years.

So I set about researching it and borrowed £20,000 to train in cattle and sheep and buy the best equipment available at the time. Advertised in Dog World & Our Dogs

My first scan on 29th September 1989 and was 3 llamas locally with a vet, followed by 2 Newfoundland and a Peekinese in Bury St Edmunds watched by the breeder, her vet, her vets senior partner, several nurses and kennel staff. I was shaking like a leaf. The first Newfy i saw 7 puppies, the second one wasn't pregnant and the Peke was expecting 5. I was right on all 3! Sooo relieved when the breeder rang to tell me and I was off
