I firmly believe that dog training isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. To explain why, here’s a little background info about me, my dog Buddy and how I became an award-winning dog trainer.
My interest in dog training came with my first pup, Buddy. Like you, I wanted to socialise him early on, learn how to keep him out of trouble and stop him from destroying my house.
However, I found puppy classes to be rather hit and miss. Beyond the basic tips and tricks, the training methods fell short, but also I wasn’t having fun. Buddy was still a lunatic off the lead and just wasn’t developing into the fully rounded dog I wanted him to be.
LONG LASTING CHANGE
Having spent most of my career as an IT trouble-shooter, it’s in my DNA to try and fix things. Good problem solving is about understanding what went wrong and why, so you can stop it happening again. It’s the same with behaviour – human or animal.
I spent months reviewing the methods of the world’s top dog training experts. By trialling the best of what I saw, I designed my own approach to training and saw fantastic results in my own dog Buddy.
DOG TRAINER OF THE YEAR
When the internationally respected School of Canine Science launched its Trainer of the Year award in 2018, I put my approach to the test. Convinced that my dog training methods could get the right results quickly and positively, I set out to prove it.
Working with three amazing rescue dogs from Battersea, including a 12-week old puppy, I fought off stiff competition from some of the UK’s most experienced trainers to win the award. It was practical, indisputable proof that my approach really works.
So, if you want to build a rewarding relationship with your puppy and learn how to bring out the best in them, then let’s train the Delders Dogs way.
