It’s so easy to fixate on the big milestones that we forget how important the small ones are. Social media is full of dramatic before and afters. Don’t get me wrong, those are amazing achievements, but the little improvements our dogs show us each day often tell us just as much about their comfort, strength, and quality of life.

Nobody takes photos of their dog lifting their leg to p*e or finally scratching their own ear again… but for your dog, that can be huge! And sometimes we don’t even realise a behaviour has disappeared until it suddenly comes back.

That last one might seem odd. Of course, nobody wants their dog stealing things, but in this dog’s case, it was a return to cheeky puppy behaviour! I'm always apologising to owners that I’m “making their dogs naughty again,” but honestly, many dogs (especially older ones) are simply too sore or tired to get into mischief. When they start seeking toys or pinching treats again, it’s often a sign they’re feeling better. But dont worry, I have the number of a great behaviourist! 😂

Share your small wins in the comments so we can celebrate together! 🎉

The amazing Pixle started to see our osteopath, Jay, in September following surgery for C3/4 disc rupture. Her prognosis was questionable, but she has just gone from strength to strength! 💪

She has such determination, and with the help of a great multidisciplinary team and very dedicated owners, she has now been discharged and is free to enjoy her life again!

Cases like these make our jobs so worth it, and we adore helping your pets regain their quality of life. The second video is Pixle taking her very first independent steps towards Jay in clinic - a very exciting moment for all involved!

Well done, Pixle! You're an absolute star! 🌟

Is this witchcraft? 🧙‍♀️

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but Chrollo always seems to poo near poo bins 💩

It's extremely useful, and if I could pass on this wisdom to fellow dog owners, I would, but alas, I have no idea how it happened 😂

Ps. The pumpkin emoji is to maintain his dignity 🤫😂

Happy Halloween, everybody! 🎃 👻

Milo's owner sent me this picture this morning. Do we think he's recharging so he's ready for his hydrotherapy later or will it be a sleepy session today? 😂😴

Lenny showing off his new ride 😎 🚘

Following TPLO surgery after rupturing his cruciate, Lenny has to be on restricted walks for a while whilst the bone heals, and he regains strength gradually. However, he doesn't let that stop him!

His amazing owners bought him this buggy so that he can still enjoy the outside world and get all those different sniffs in. Mental stimulation is so important - particularly for those dogs who are limited in their exercise capabilities. Having the buggy enables Lenny to still explore different places without overdoing it 🐾

What a handsome model for the buggy, too! 💁‍♂️

Daisy decided this was the best position to be in and stayed there for most of her session today 😂

She's been having physiotherapy and TECAR Therapy and absolutely loves it but fingers crossed, we can get her back to hydrotherapy soon because she always has a look of disappointment when we have to walk straight past the hydro room 😂

The following is a lovely comment we received from Tilly's owners about how her treatment sessions with our osteopath, Jay, has helped her quality of life. We love hearing these sorts of things and they can really make our day! 😁

"How Physiotherapy and Paracetamol Gave My Senior Dog Her Life Back

At 13 years old, my beloved dog Tilly had begun to slow down in a way that felt irreversible. Her arthritis had worsened to the point where she struggled to get up, hesitated at stairs, and often chose to lie in her bed rather than greet visitors with her usual enthusiasm. Like many pet owners, I wanted to do everything I could to ease her pain, so we went down the route that many vets recommend: expensive injections promising relief.

But after months of costly treatments, the results were… underwhelming. Tilly seemed no more mobile, and the sparkle in her eyes still flickered behind a haze of discomfort.

Then everything changed.

Enter Jay, a gentle and deeply knowledgeable physiotherapist who seemed to understand Tilly’s body and spirit right away. Instead of another injection or new medication, Jay focused on targeted physical therapy—gentle stretching, massage, and low-impact exercises tailored specifically to Tilly’s aging joints. Alongside this, our vet suggested something surprisingly simple: paracetamol (given under veterinary supervision and in safe doses).

Within just a few weeks, I saw a transformation I hadn’t dared hope for.

Tilly was standing up more easily, moving around with more freedom, and even managing a few short, happy trots across the garden again. Her mood lifted. She became more engaged, more alert—more like the dog I knew.

I won’t claim it’s a miracle cure—arthritis doesn’t disappear—but for Tilly, the combination of physiotherapy and basic, affordable medication has given her a quality of life I didn’t think was possible at this stage. And it didn’t take a high-priced injection to do it. It took compassion, patience, and the right kind of care.

Jay, if you’re reading this: thank you. Your work has brought joy back into our home, and I’m endlessly grateful for what you’ve done for Tilly."

Jaxon felt like he needed some nice, quiet, relaxing time in his garden after working hard during his hydrotherapy!

Jaxon tends to swing his leg inwards when walking, so we used hindlimb guiding techniques to make him walk correctly. This made him use muscles he hadn't used in a while, so he was justifiably tired by the end of his session!

Great work, Jaxon!
