Today we said goodbye to this sweet boy, one of the first dogs I started walking. Unfortunately age crept up on him, and he couldn't come out with us so often. But I will miss him terribly, as will his family and adopted siblings.

WEEP FOR THIS YOUNG BOY BECAUSE HE DIDN’T STAND A CHANCE

This young Cane Corso x Pressa was bred and sold to a family without guidance or understanding of his breed or needs. Placed in a chaotic and disruptive domestic situation with challenged children, where although he was loved, he was mismanaged and pushed to his very limits and finally snapped and bit.

After the incident he was locked in a car and it took 10 policemen to pole him out bleeding and screaming in such a way that the people who heard it are still haunted by it. He spent his three weeks in the police kennels huddled in a ball in the corner of the kennel refusing to eat. When he was returned to the family he could hardly stand and was a broken dog turning on the dog he had to date lived happily alongside.

The family asked us to take him and we said yes but they changed their mind the next day. They then came back to us again and we said yes and this time we organised transport and they changed their mind. At 9 pm on a Saturday evening the inevitable call came – again pushed beyond his limits this broken boy had reacted again and his removal was an emergency. Thank you to Phil who dropped everything and bravely went into a very challenging situation and to Cottam who immediately made space for him when we were full.

When is all this back street breeding and irresponsible rehoming ever going to stop? When is the suffering of dogs like this boy ever going to end?
We now have him and it is our responsibility to pick up the pieces and we are working with him every day. Will we ever be able to undo what has been done to him? We believe we will but we will have to give him all the time in the world that he needs. How long will that be – no-one knows. But his life counts – man did this to him and someone has to stand up and say that he should not be conveniently put to sleep. The crime is mankinds not his. Please stand with us. We cannot take on dogs like him who need us the very most without you.
This is a desperate plea to help us to support him, retrain him, mend him, reassure him and make him whole again to begin the life he deserves.

Little Foxy went to sleep for the last time yesterday. After a lifetime of neglect and abuse, he finally found a loving home with a wonderful lady who gave him all the kindness and love he deserved.
