Step aside youngsters. This is Holly collie ❤️ At almost 16 years old Holly really feels the benefits of hydrotherapy. Using the properties of water is a natural, fantastic way of easing the symptoms of arthritis and improving quality of life. The warmth of the water relaxes muscles and decreases pain perception allowing a greater range of motion. The buoyancy safely removes the stress from the joints and gives freedom of movement, allowing exercise to maintain strength. The hydrostatic pressure encompasses the body, improves circulation and reduces inflammation. We love working with older patients as we see a significant improvement in a short space of time and they love it too.

Meet Angus the Doberman, he is only a baby at 8 months old, when his owners John and Ann-Marie rescued him he was severely malnourished and underweight, he has gained 7kg but still needs to build muscle and conditioning. This is his first swim, he has had quite a few treadmill sessions prior to this to help build muscle but we wanted to add in a different range of movement, as you can see treadmill sessions have really helped build his confidence around water. Go Angus 🌟 he is the sweetest boy.

My oldies turn today, give them a session a week as it really helps with fitness, condition and mobility. Regular medication not needed as yet which is great at 12 and 14 years old.

Here is 5 month old Eddie, a Giant Shnauzer on his first swim. We have rehabbed Eddies older brother Alfie for many years when he was left unable to walk after polyradiculoneuritis (thankfully he is now back to his naughty self). Eddie’s owner understands the importance of not over exercising (especially high impact) large breed puppies until they are fully mature and well conditioned. Hydrotherapy offers non-weight bearing exercise, builds confidence and gives a safe energy outlet. Eddie is a true water baby ❤️

Apologies our Facebook presence has been hit and miss, we’ve had a few difficulties with it but we are back and what better way than introducing you to Olly.
Olly is an 11 year old Golden Retriever, he visits us twice a week for laser and treadmill therapy to help ease the symptoms from elbow and hip dysplasia. It’s safe to say this is his happy place and he has us all trained when it comes to feeding him treats, such a character 😍

When Alfie first came to us after treatment at the veterinary hospital he was still unable to walk. His condition idiopathic polyradiculoneuritis is very rare so we were unsure how treatment would progress. After the first few treadmill sessions even though Alfie couldn’t walk without aid, he was beginning to get his ‘spark’ back and really looked forward to his sessions. Within a few weeks of treatment (coupled with his owners hard work) he was walking.
He is now enjoying lots of walks and play dates with his friends and as a team we couldn’t be prouder of him. He is continuing treatment with us but our main problem now is getting him to leave the centre.

Say hello to Cece, she brought us a lovely thank you card today 🥰
Cece has been having weekly treadmill sessions following surgery for a ruptured cruciate back in January, she has been through the mill a little due to the plate getting infected prior to hydro which really set her back. She is now fully fit, raring to go and back to her cheeky ways.

Some Good News.
Since some restrictions were lifted, permission was granted from our governing body to resume some of our rehabilitation treatments.

We have strict guidelines to adhere to and must work to these to keep every one who uses the centre safe and we thank you in advance for helping us do this.
We will provide you with all the relevant infomation regarding this when booking your appointment.

Because of these guidelines we have limited opening hours and we need to work on a week to week basis and be prepared for things to change at short notice.

Under the current guidelines, we are not able offer fitness sessions at the moment- but hopefully this will change soon- so keep in touch if this applies to you.

If you haven't heard from us and would like an appointment please get in touch.

Good morning, hope you are all safe and well.
Currently we are still fully closed, we are just awaiting further guidance from NARCH which we are hoping we will receive tomorrow, once we know anything we will update.
I know many of you are keen to get back to hydrotherapy, we are also keen to get back to doing what we love and taking care of your dogs but everyone’s safety is paramount.
Thank you all for your continued patience and support. We are hoping to see you all very soon.

Admin absolutely bossing the lockdown.
We hope you are all keeping safe and well. As we suspected a lot of you are starting to see the detrimental effects of your dogs not being able to have regular sessions but rest assured we will get you all back on track as soon as we possibly can.
In the meantime we would suggest that if your dog is starting to suffer and they are not on regular pain medication then give your vet a call to discuss possible options, it is essential your dogs are as comfortable as possible.
With exercise do not overdo it especially if your dog is showing signs of being uncomfortable, little and often is most beneficial even if that means popping a lead on and walking around the garden.
Take a look at the fantastic Canine Arthritis Management page, there is so much useful information on there https://www.facebook.com/CAMprofessional/

Also don’t forget we have a specific client group, if you are not already on there we would love for you to join us https://www.facebook.com/groups/2680973535472692/?ref=share

Finally just remember we are always at the end of the phone or email if you need to chat or discuss anything.

Hopefully we are over the worst and we will see you all again soon.
