Celebrating 1 year 🐕🫶🏽

A year ago today I decided to take the leap from my amazing assistant manager job at a kennels ( I was told I was crazy but also I would do so well becoming a dog walker ) …. I am so pleased I did because it is hands down the best choice I have made 🐕

Growing up I always had a passion when it came to dogs begging my dad at 10 years old for a German shepherd puppy - Eventually convinced him and we got Zak ( White old looking one in the video ) unfortunately we lost him about a month ago but he was the definition of “a man’s best friend” from a young age he taught me so much about dogs. 7 years later we got another GSD puppy and then 3 & 1/2 years ago I rescued a GIANT but loving and gentle GSD at 18 months old from the kennels I worked at for just over 4 years straight after achieving D*D*D* in Animal behaviour and management at Hartpury college. Precious pets Kennels and cattery is where I became an assistant manager at 20 years old and had the privilege of working with so many dog breeds which ultimately led me to my dream job🤩

Milo my GSD rescue has taught me so many valuable lessons in regards to behaviour and in terms of reactivity how to deal with it but most importantly how loving reactive dogs are and this is where I enjoy helping out clients who are in the same position.

I am so lucky to have met so many lovely people along my journey and most importantly a huge range of dog breeds who I get to take care of day in and day out.

Here I am 1 year after starting my own business at 23 years old and what an amazing year it has been🐕 I started by walking only 5 dogs a week and now I’m walking …. 10/12 dogs per day! Let alone what started as a couple thousand steps a day is now averaging at 30,000.

I love my job 🫶🏽Thank you to everyone who continues to support me 💗

18 year old me would have never imagined…. That 24 year old me would be almost celebrating a year as a business owner when I decided this time last year to leave my amazing job at a kennels & cattery 🐶 🐱 and start looking into becoming self employed and starting my own dog walking business. Becoming a dog walker is the best decision I have ever made 🐕 Thank you to everyone for all the support 💗
