My favourite (don’t tell the others 🤫) Sales Livery went off to her new forever home yesterday! So happy for both her and her new owner 🥰
We still have the lovely 13.2hh mare available. Her owners have moved to my yard and they were hoping to get some more time with her but the fact of her being totally outgrown is still there. We are looking for a 15hh-ish to take over from her if anyone has anything suitable for a tall 11 year old.

Videos are of her lovely (but unfortunately now too tall) 11 year rider, who has still been coming to see her very much loved pony while she’s been with us, getting to play out in the fields and on the beach over the summer and weekends now school is back.

Loads and travels in a trailer. Good with farrier and vet.
Can be nervous around other horses so ideally she’d want to be in a field by herself or with quiet companion. She’s not a massive fan of being in a stable, mostly because she feels trapped around other horses. Happy to live out all year round with an open shelter though.
Will come with bridle and a few rugs.

A busy day yesterday, working on a loading issue with a pony that was getting worse every time the trailer was out, the last time being over an hour long trying and the owners ended up giving up! We had a lovely 30 minute first session and had her loading calmly with me and in the end her owner as well. A routine set up for the owners to follow that will help for future successes! A message this morning to say they ran through the routine, she loaded calmly and went to a show 🥳
We also got in a Holiday Livery who is spending a little down time at our relaxing quiet yard to hopefully let her heal and to also lose a little weight 🥰 isn’t she the cutest!

The newest arrival today coming for Sales Livery.
This lovely girl is around 15.3hh, 16 year old Scottish Sports horse mare who will now be under assessment before advertising 🥰
A little insight of what we do here in the first week of training and why we suggest a minimum of 2 weeks to get the best results and more relaxed horses 🥰
Rebacking/Schooling Livery
Day 1 : Accumulate and Relax
Freya was left to get to know her surroundings for a few hours, she was then fed and brushed to establish some friendship.
Day 2: Lunging and Sightseeing
Popped some tack on her and added light pressure from the side reins to see how she would react. A 10 minute trot and walk round to get some of the energy out and then a walk around the yard to see her surroundings.
Day 3: Inhand Walk
A walk around the hack track to see how she would react to other horses, cars, and just general possible spooky things.
Day 4: Lunging
A more working type lunge to get her using all the muscles she would need to be ridden, especially over her topline. Adding in some pole work to see her thinking process.
Day 5: Day Off
The most important day is to decompress. A feed and brush to carry on establishing the friendship.
Day 6: Backing Experience
A slow process of leaning over her back to then move up to sitting on her. As she is in for re-backing this process can be done a bit quicker or slower depending on the horses comfort levels and if they have experienced negative training before. Once sat on it’s just a run through of a few little motions: Rein pressure each side, leg pressure, and body movement.
Day 7: Riding
Running through the same things as the day before, then getting the walk forward motion in place. A few circles and lots of stop and starts to keep the horse engaged. Ended with a inhand walk to release the brain.

After a quiet year last year due to having Dakota’s foal join the family, we are looking forward to this year and are now taking bookings for liveries starting in May, with our first already booked it is best to be quick as limited spaces.
Unfortunately, with the price of everything slowly increasing as usual, we have had to up our prices as well, but still trying to keep things as cheap and tight as possible for everyone.

Phoenix is my 2nd homebred, now 5 weeks old and so far has been a walking vet bill 😅
With legs far too long he has had a bit of a problem with a few things but we are on the right track now with physio 3 times a day and box rest for another 4 weeks, fingers crossed he’ll be back out in the field soon (and hopefully causing less trouble😂)!

My homebred rising 4 year old at his first time away from home today and only his 4th time schooling 🥰 He has a lot of muscle to put on but things are looking promising for his future!
5 year old Schooling Livery, Pea, went on her first hack with another horse today and also her first time with a different rider. Big thank you to Rachel who took her out with me so we could see how she was with another rider! As usual she was a laid back pro, taking the lead most of the way 🥰
