This week has seen four favourites head back into full training following a stint of pre training.

Midnight Venture went back to Jamie Snowden, Glimpse of Gala and Maninsane headed back to Charlie Longsdons and Myfanwy’s Magic went back to Martin Keighleys.

During our pre training we go hacking, we do lots of hill work, flatwork in the school and both Magic and Maninsane have been swimming this time too.

Catering to each individuals temperament and also bearing in mind any previous injuries is as important in these early stages as it is once they in full training.

We try to vary their work and we are lucky enough to have the facilities to do so and access to fantastic hacking.

It is a long season once they are back at big school and if we can get them as ready as we can without them realising that they are in work by doing lots of different things then I feel that is beneficial to them.

We hope they all have a brilliant and successful season!!!

Brody just putting the finishing touches to Glimpse of Gala who heads back to Charlie Longsdon tomorrow.

She has spent 6 weeks with us pre training.

Everyone loves her to pieces, especially Georgia who has threatened leaving me to go work for Charlie!!!

Little Glimpse of Gala with her younger bigger brother Scrumpy Jack.

Both here for pre training before they go back to Charlie Longsdon.

Scrumpy Jack is a 3 year old by a Jack Hobbs and we dream of him following in the families footsteps.

Gala will go back soon and Jack will stay with us until September.

It has been a really long time since I have done any form of written summary of how things within the yard are going…..

I think this is a result of being very busy juggling motherhood and the yard!!!

We have had a really good summer so far busy with breakers, rehabs, pre trainers and some RoR’s to sell.

The team are fantastic and all work tirelessly to keep the show on the road!

Gareth and I are thoroughly enjoying being parents to our delightful Brody who already is showing a love for the horses and outdoor living- no surprise there!

The recent rain and sunshine has kept the grass growing well all summer which is great to allow those in work to also enjoy some turnout in the paddocks.

We have a yard full at the moment which is brilliant and certainly keeps us all out of trouble.

The never ending difficulties in finding staff at the weekends continues on….. what is with the world today?!
It seems no one wants to or can work at the weekend anymore.

This has only become a problem for us now we have Brode because we would like to spend more time being a family at the weekends.

Where are all the keen teenagers who want to earn money?!

Besides that constant frustration of weekend struggles life in the yard is great.

We are so lucky to break in, pre train and holiday a selection of real quality horses who we love to follow on the track. Walking down the yard admiring them all is a real treat and makes me realise why we do it!!!

Paddy is now at university and Moonie is wasted so is looking for his new fun human.

16.2 6 year old thoroughbred gelding ready to go on.

He last ran at the end of May and is showing huge potential to excel in any discipline.

He is a pleasure to deal with , brilliant out hacking, can be left a few days and be exactly the same when you get back on.

He was Guinea pig at an RoR demo last week and behaved beautifully.

He will make someon a wonderful prospect to event and compete or in the show ring.

He has a wonderful attitude to learning.

We really love doing the breaking and backing of gorgeous young horses- the progress of this 2 year old by Passing Glance and out of one of my all time favourites Dabinett Moon has been fabulous.

****SATURDAY AND SUNDAY STAFF REQUIRED****

Due to the yard being in its busiest phase and a few changes going on…. We require weekend staff to help and support those we already have.

7- 11 ish am
4- 5.30pm
All flexible!!

We are a busy yard - ability and confidence to handle young thoroughbreds and use initiative in any potential situations.

Duties to include- Mucking out, leading horses to and from Walker, turning horses out.
POO PICKING- yes the hated job but we take pride in our lovely tidy paddocks and it really isn’t that bad.
I have been doing it for years quite happily and it hasn’t killed me yet….

Please only apply if you want to work, want to earn money, don’t go out and get hammered on a Friday and Saturday night or if you do still have the ability to show up and won’t moan if Gareth and I have a rare Sunday morning OFF which believe you me we would love !!

I have kept them dreaming that one day I will return to the slimmer pre baby body I had then- the reality is something quite different!!!

15.2 7 year old thoroughbred mare by Passing Glance.

Through no fault of her own Peggy is for sale.

She has had three runs pointing showing us nothing and it is now time for her to go and find her calling.
She is a forward going sort who needs a job.
Good in traffic, hacks alone and the basics in the school are there.
Would suit a keen competent teenager or small adult.
Jumps superbly and would probably suit a team chasing/ hunt race or showjumping fun all rounder type home.
She is not going to be a posh show/ dressage or event type as whilst she isn’t keen she is forward thinking and wants to get on.
She is very tough and thinks she is more boy than girl!!

Last night, superstars Hidden Charmer and Tab’s lovely grey Glen assisted Gareth and I in pulling off a fancy dress surprise at my sister’s 40th birthday party!!!

The boys were brilliantly behaved, we had a lot of fun, and the sun shone!!!!

Sadly no run for our 360 Racing Club and Passing Affair today as Edgcote Races abandoned. With any luck she will get to make her real debut on the right ground before the end of the season! Here she is schooling well with Amber Jackson Fennell last Thursday

Absolutely thrilled with the progress of this little horse.

A very well bred 3 year old who ran once on the flat in blinkers last winter as a 2 year old c**t. Since then he has been cut but evidently took a very long time to settle down
🙈🙈 .

On collection a month ago we were told it must live in a headcollar and beware of both ends!! - for a week we did do this , he was a very angry, human hating little horse but slowly slowly with lots of love and hard work he has got his act together.

I did lots of pen work, long reining and loose schooling- I felt introducing some fun into his life would help him!

Gareth got him going under saddle with some school work and hacking.

Well here we are a month later nice enough for the old girl to ride !!! Being turned out and generally a happier little horse!!

Who knows what his future will be- a gorgeous hurdler we hope but we shall see!!
For now he happy and enjoying life!!

Emotional day yesterday- we bid farewell to our beloved first homebred Ronnie.

Bought by Howard Posner as a foal - Howard left him with us to bring on , break in and produce and the day of him leaving seemed so far away but it came yesterday.

He has been a star from day one- never causing us any issues and sentimentally has been a journey!!

When I met Gareth Ronnie was a foal and Gareth had never ridden yet her we are nearly 3 years later and Gareth has done all the hard work with Ronnie.

We will miss his presence in the yard because he is the ultimate dude!
But will be so proud of hearing about him and following his journey.

Good luck Howard, Jedd and Andrea, and all the team there.
