We are now closed for our winter break. But we thought you might like to see our Snowy Owl Yeti looking perfect out in the snow earlier on today.

We are now CLOSED for our annual winter break. It’s been a great season with lots of highlights. Including being able to watch Buzzard-eagle ‘Blue’ being raised brilliantly by his parents and the progress he has since made flying free in our displays. He is going to be even more of a star in 2025!
We will be reopening in mid-February

The Buzzard-eagle chicks are growing fast.

Visitors might have recently heard some sweet little cheeping sounds coming from our Black-chested buzzard-eagles aviary. So this morning it was time to check in on Lulu and Saus and this is what we found. As they are not quite big enough to be ID rung, we will have to check back in a few days time.

Sadly today was Kellie’s last with us here at Cotswold Falconry. And it was one last display as well for Icarus and Keiser. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to the centre these past 8 years. We are all going to miss you lots, but know you have exciting plans for the future.

Our Red-backed Hawks are again raising a chick this year. You may have met one of this little one’s older brothers Diego on our flying start experience.

Louie the first Palm-nut Vulture to be raised here at Cotswold Falconry now has to share the limelight with his younger sister.

Magnolia our Turkey Vulture greeting visitors yesterday or maybe he was just sunbathing during the 11.30 display.

Our 2024 season starts tomorrow (10th February). Regular visitors might notice a few changes about the centre and we have some new arrivals to introduce. Hopefully Deano here will start making regular appearances after a winter of settling in.

Sunday 19th November is the last day of our 2023 season. Tyke the American Kestrel will then be on his winter break until mid-February.

Our group of homebred Black Kites doing a lovely job of demonstrating their brilliant agility, even on a damp, grey day like today.

Covered in a thick layer of insulating feathers Petra our Turkmenian Eagle Owl didn’t seem too concerned about a bit of snowfall early this morning.

Our young pair of African Fish Eagles seem to be bonding nicely with this short duet. As the most vociferous of fish eagles they don’t do this quietly! It’s certainly distinctive.

Looks like we’ve got some lovely flying weather for this weekend. Although young Evy herself is not quite ready yet for launch, hopefully lots of our other birds will be taking full advantage of the conditions.

Must be at least a week since last posted about the Gymnogene chick. He is developing so fast! Won’t be long before he is flying and hopefully displaying some cool behaviours in the displays.

Red-footed falcon chicks have started hatching out over the past couple of days.

We are often joined by wild birds of prey during the displays. But it’s extra special when they actually live in the centre. This wild female Barn Owl actually hatched in the building itself about 7 years ago and is currently rearing her own 5 chicks. If you are lucky you might hear the chicks and probably notice the smell as you walk through our building.

Slo-mo stooping Saker Falcon. Max might take a little while to warm up, but once committed he is definitely all in.
