🦴Raw Bones! 🦴

As part of Pet Dental Health Month we're going to talk about raw bones, and the benefits that can have on your pet's teeth!

Dog's teeth are designed for chewing through meat and bones, and doing so also releases endorphins, making them feel happier 😁

Raw meaty bones can help to remove build up on teeth, as well as strengthen the teeth and jaw. Raw bones with meat and other tissues attached will rub against the teeth removing plaque and tartar, and keeping teeth healthy.

It is important to choose the right kind of bone for your pet to make sure that is is safe and beneficial for them. Below is a guide at what types of bones are suitable:
🦴Kittens, cats and small puppies - wing tips and chicken necks
🦴Puppies and small dogs - chicken wings
🦴Medium dogs - duck necks and chicken carcass
🦴Large dogs - lamb ribs
🦴Giant dogs - turkey necks

You can also try chicken or duck feet, mice, or chicks for cats or small dogs.

Always supervise your pet when they are chewing a bone, and never feed any bones that have been cooked or smoked. Cooked bones will become hard and brittle, and are therefore much more likely to cause damage to the digestive system. Raw bones are much more flexible and the meat around them provides a layer of protection when they are swallowed. Make sure to buy raw bones produced specially for pets from a reputable brand, as these have been bacteria tested 🦠

🦷🪥 Emmi-Pet teeth cleaning🪥🦷

What is Emmi-Pet?

Emmi-Pet is a gentle but effective, tooth brushing system which uses ultrasound to remove plaque and tartar build up.

It is non abrasive and actively prevents gingivitis and oral cavity disease.

How much does a session cost?

🦷 Initial session - £30 for 30 minutes. This price includes your dogs own personal brush head.
🦷 Maintenance session - £15 for 20 minutes.

What do I need to do to book?

Please contact the salon if you would like to enquire. Emmi-Pet teeth cleaning is by appointment only.

Anything else I need to know?

- We are NOT vets and cannot diagnose or treat underlying dental problems. Emmi-Pet is NOT a easy fix to serious dental problems.
- We can only treat dogs with a good temperament.
- We cannot guarantee the level of effectiveness of teeth cleaning on your individual dog. We can only show you our previous examples of how well it can work.
- We cannot be held responsible for any underlying issues that may be discovered in the course of teeth cleaning.
