Very pleased with brocklinton ace the other day his first time out with the big dogs at just 8months old hunted very well (better than I was expecting)
first ever bit of game shot for him was a noisy rabbit out and In not a bother he has risen to the occasion and will be one to watch in the coming seasons

Great result for our good friend last Sunday at the Northumberland and Durham Labrador retriever club held at lead hill house coming first place in the puppy with Brockenburn Reef 🥇
Reef is sired by our home bred dog Brocklinton jasper which cameron is also now working as part of his high level picking up team

UP FOR STUD !!

FTCH Brocklinton Bertie is one of 5 out of our bitch Wild Popet of Brocklinton to Buccleuch Pepper that we have kept back and trialed 2 FTCH 1 FTW and 2 FTAW

Bertie has won 5 trials in total and had numerous placings in his long career.
He was the oldest male in the championships last year at 6 1/2 and same again this time around at 7 1/2 years old. Bertie has loads of pace and power hunts any cover , always gives it 100% , has a great engine and never gives in

His hunting as always was top draw loads of pace and power . He was called over onto the other side for a retrieve and picked it with one cast
Hunted on and sent for his own retrieve hit the fall streigh away checking the fall thoroughly as the hen bird had ran down a narrow strip of rash and broke out at the end .Bertie took the line a long way to the end then came back to the fall and was called up
The other side dog was sent and also didn’t pick
So that was Bertie out as he was 1st dog down
One of my Guns told me at the end of the day Bertie was as good as any dog he had seen all day which was nice to hear
So last year Bertie was the oldest dog in the Championships at 6 1/2 and this year he was also the oldest dog at 7 1/2
So we will have to see what next year brings and weather we run him or not but his heart and engine are still very good he is one tough old boy

Would like to say a thank you to all the judges and anyone involved in putting the championships on also a well done to all competitors for getting your dogs there hopefully see yous all next year !

A very pleasing couple of weeks hear a Brocklinton / Brockrise Kennels in novice trials
With my Pal Lee Hornsby winning 2nd time out for both Him and Fred and me getting a win with Floss 4th time out on Tuesday
Brockrise Floss and Brockrise Fred are litter mates and are only 18 month
They are out of our Homebred Bitch

Betty defo produces early starters she is also the dam of Brocklinton Kia
Who was 3rd in the Championships last season at only 2 1/2 year old

Ftch Brocklinton Bertie qualified for the Championships again a few weeks ago at the Highlang Gundog Club Open Trial at Pitmain Estate. Bertie is now 7 1/2 year old and still Doing It 🤛

🏆Lenny taken 1st place In his first open field trial for the north of Scotland gundog association in Aberdeenshire, 2nd Jim adamson with lochandaimh Kim of jenoren and 3rd willie smith with Bishwell bundle. Very good trial with plenty of game

Meaning Bertie and Lenny who are half brothers and home bred both getting first in one week!

Happy days

A successful couple of weeks for Brocklinton gun dogs!

Bertie gaining a very close second place at the strathmore open stake last week. Billy then coming second With glenlaggin arrow on Monday ,also gaining a very close second at the highland gun dog open stake.

Then to top it off yesterday Bertie gained a win at the lothian and borders open stake, making him up to a field trial champion (FTCH)

Bertie is our second FTCH along with his litter mate sister Brockliton Betty. A well deserved title! Very honest and reliable dog with him showing his consistency at every stake he competes in. proud moment for us now having two home bred FTCH 🏆

2nd place last Sunday at strathmoore English spring Spaniel open with Brocklinton Bertie. Paul matthews won with Lady Nevis, making her up to FTCH. James Addimson 3rd with Spirocon annie of jenoren. 🏆

So we’ve been a bit quiet on here lately.. lockdown is officially over and we’re back to work full time meaning we’ve fallen off the “insta” bandwagon a bit.

However it’s been far from quite here at Brockfield...we’ve had some more new arrivals!

FTW Brocklinton Berry X Cowarnecourt patriot, of Buccleuch. Whelped her very fist litter of 5 two weeks ago and took to motherhood perfectly.
