This week I've been doing drop-in visits to feed this lovely boy and his brother. He made me smile this week because he really came out of his shell.

On previous visits throughout the year, he's kept his distance from me. I always want to make sure that pets under my care, are as comfortable and stress-free as possible, so I never force cuddles or attention on them.

At each visit I've been chatting to him and leaving some treats, so that he can get used to me and have a positive assocation with me visiting. This week, much to my delight, he has been coming over to say hi and enjoying some fuss.

Winning over shy and nervous pets is a really rewarding part of my job, I love slowly building their trust.

NEW SERVICE
Do you have a dog that would enjoy some off-lead fun, in a secure field?

Starting from Friday 5th September, I will be running secure field play sessions. These will be every Friday.

All dogs must be friendly. I have up to 4 spaces available, please message me to get booked in.

Any new dogs will need to have a walk with me beforehand, to assess suitability for a group walk.

I may offer more sessions on different days, if there is a demand for it. Message me if you would be interested in a different day.

If you'd have told me a few years go, that I would be running my own dog walking and pet care business, I would've never believed you. I had just qualified as a veterinary nurse and thought that would be my job for the foreseeable.

I loved my job as a veterinary nurse but I was no longer happy in the practice that I was working in, so I left. I was between jobs, so I offered to look after my friend's dog while she was away on her honeymoon and I really enjoyed myself.

This is how I got the idea to start-up my business. I was missing working with animals and love being outdoors, so why not combine both passions? I've never looked back and I'm so grateful to have a job that I enjoy doing everyday.
