Spot the spanners in the first photo😆

Steve and Pete, along with AHDB and the Seaton family at Kynsal Farm ran a great Mobility Mentor session today. Aided by fine weather, warm brews and biscuits they first ‘walked’ us through the main causes of lameness and the processes involved in Mobility Mentor visits in the party barn. Then, following the path of cows around the farm they identified things which were done well in respect to managing lameness, along with potential areas for improvement, before regrouping in the barn to summarise the walk and create a list of potential ‘next steps’. We finished off with hot soup, sandwiches and sweet treats before everyone put their best feet forwards and went back to their days.

Charlotte and Nora were in action today, freeze branding next year’s first lactation heifers at one of our spring block calving farms. A very efficient set up and a lot of satisfied customers!🐮🐄

Saturday night saw our Nantwich Farm Vets staff Christmas party, and we all had a great night! As you can see from the photos, we all scrub up pretty well! There may have been a few sore heads on Sunday morning…

We’ve finished our 2 very successful foot trimming courses this week-the 1 day “first aid for feet” and the 3 day “comprehensive Lantra accredited foot trimming course”!
Thanks to Tim and Peter for training our next batch of foot trimmers, we hope you all enjoyed it!

Laura, Sophie and Steph headed down to the TB Advisory Service Knowledge Exchange Day today in Worcester to discuss all things TB and share ideas on how to reduce its incidence on our farms!
