🍂 Autumn Parasite Alert! 🍂
As the seasons change, so do the risks to your pet’s health. Cooler, wetter weather can bring out parasites like harvest mites, fleas, ticks, and even lungworm in dogs. 🐶🌧️
🔸 Harvest mites – tiny orange pests that cause itching and irritation, especially around paws 🐾 and ears 👂
🔸 Fleas – love warm homes 🏠 and can wake from dormancy when the heating goes on 🔥
🔸 Ticks – found in grassy areas 🌿, they latch onto pets and feed on blood 🩸
🔸 Lungworm – spread by slugs 🐌 and snails 🐚, this serious parasite can be fatal if untreated ⚠️
✅ Regular flea, tick & worming treatments are your best defence 🛡️

Meet Aussie and Elphie — two adorable pups who recently visited the vets! 🐕🐕
We asked our amazing nurses for their top tips on puppy ownership, and here’s what they shared:
1. Do your breed research!
Pick a breed that suits your lifestyle. 🏡📚
2. Get them insured!
Vet bills can be pricey 💸 — make sure to check what’s covered in your policy.
3. Desensitisation is key!
Teeth, feet, and ears are often missed — but they matter! 🦷🐾👂
4. Introduce them to everyday noises:
Fireworks 🎆, alarms 🚨, car horns 🚗🔊, and doorbells 🔔
5. Join puppy classes!
Great for socialising and learning new skills 🐕‍🦺🎓
6. Keep their brain busy!
Puzzle toys 🧩 are brilliant for mental stimulation and can tire them out without long walks.
7. Teething tip!
Pop a carrot 🥕 in the freezer — it’s healthy and soothing for sore gums. (Just keep them away from your white carpets! 😅)
8. Keep up to date with flea and worm treatment!
Prevention is best when dealing with fleas and worms 🐛🚫
