Great to have so many of our regular guests staying as well as lots of first timers. It's lovely to be able to look after them while their families take the opportunity to have a break after 2 years of restrictions. Photos to follow!

WE ARE RECRUITING!

We will shortly be looking to recruit a cattery assistant to work Saturday mornings from 8 - 12 and afternoons from 3.30 - 6.00, and Sunday mornings 8 - 12. This could either be one person for both days or one assistant for Saturdays and another one for Sunday mornings. Previous experience would be useful but not essential since training will be given. An ability to be flexible, observant and willing to work hard is important. Minimum age 16 years and pay dependent on experience.
Most importantly the candidate would love cats and have cats of their own so that they are familiar with their needs and how to look after them.
The job entails thorough daily cleaning of the units and full disinfection of vacated units; assisting with preparing food and feeding cats; grooming where necessary, observing and monitoring health; administering routine medication if required; assisting with arrivals and departures and helping as necessary.
We are situated in Gundleton about 3 miles from Alresford in a rural area with no public transport so it is essential that candidates should have access to their own transport to and from the cattery.
Candidates should in the first instance send their CV by e mail to Sue at [email protected].

After the last few months when most of our feline boarders have been for house moves which have been very popular, holidays at least in the UK are becoming possible and so we are becoming busier. Our visiting arrangements are still as they have been since last year, so anyone wishing to make a booking should call to make an appointment with the confidence that there will be no crowding or waiting in the cattery.
We are looking forward to having a lot of our regulars back to stay, along with a steady number of first timers. Photos to follow!

With best wishes from us all at the cattery, Sue, Paul, Jo and Cory

LATEST UPDATE ON PROCEDURES FOR BOARDING YOUR CATS AT CLUTHA CATTERY 8 JULY 2020

Since the general Covid 19 situation has gradually improved and moved on we can now provide an update on procedures. As a business we have been able to carry out social distancing during the past few weeks and months and have been able to continue providing boarding for cats when required.
As things have eased further we have developed the following amended procedures. These are designed to ensure that we only have one visit at a time to support social distancing procedures for the following purposes:
• New customers wishing to view the cattery
• Arrivals to deliver cats for pre-booked stays
• Collections of cats at the end of their stay
An appointment must first be made for each of these visits to the cattery, by phone or e mail. Ad hoc visits will not be allowed until further notice.
We can now resume taking card payments when collecting your cats, we also accept online bank transfers which should be made the day before collection.
We ask all our visitors to respect social distancing and we have hand sanitisers situated around the cattery. We have instigated a disinfecting routine before and after visits. The wearing of face masks is optional.
We hope the procedures we have set out here gives reassurance to owners that we can look after their cats without risk to either our customers or us by safely following social distancing procedures as long as they are necessary.
With best wishes to everyone, keep safe and we look forward to seeing both our regular visitors and new customers. Availability is currently limited in August but we still have a few spaces at the end of July and a number in September.

UPDATE ON PROCEDURES FOR BOARDING YOUR CATS AT CLUTHA CATTERY

We hope all our loyal customers and their lovely cats are keeping well and we are looking forward to life resuming to something near normality. In the meantime we are pleased to update you all on how we are there for you if and when you need us to look after your cats.
We can now provide an update on procedures at the cattery as the situation develops. There is still a great deal of uncertainty as to when life will become more normal and travel possible, but as a business we are able to carry out social distancing and therefore are able to board cats when required.
Until further notice we are instigating the following procedures.
Visits to view the cattery only are not currently available and all bookings must be made by telephone or e mail and not in person. Arrangements to deliver or collect your cat must be by appointment only.
To deliver cats for a stay with us, an appointment is made for us to meet owners in the car park once they have called to say they have arrived. At a 2 metre distance cats are passed over in their carriers, and relevant points are discussed with the owners including vaccination update details, diet and any other issues.
For collections we ask for payment to be made by online bank transfer the day before the agreed departure day. Again we make an appointment and follow the same procedure as for arrivals.
We hope this gives reassurance to owners that we can look after their cats without risk to either our customers or us by safely following social distancing procedures as long as they are necessary.
With best wishes to everyone and keep safe.

What a cutie!

25/04/2020

Hi everybody, it is all very surreal having an empty cattery, the first time since we opened back in 2007. Time to catch up on all the admin, but we are certainly missing all our lovely regular cat visitors and their owners and look forward to seeing them all again in the future.
We feel sorry for all those who have had their plans for this year cancelled or postponed, especially the couples who are not able to go ahead with their weddings which take so long to arrange. Also house moves, visiting family and of course all the holidays that are put on hold.
But most importantly our thoughts are with everyone who has been directly affected by the coronavirus and our sympathies go out to them all.
We will be ready to open up again as soon as the rules allow us to do so. In the meantime we have kept all bookings previously made in the diary subject to the situation improving, but have suspended our cancellation policy due to the uncertain times.
We are still contactable by e mail or phone so please feel free to do so either to make a future booking or for any queries. We are also available to take cats in an urgent or emergency situation.
We send our best wishes to you all, look after yourselves and we look forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

Sadly we have to announce that we are now closed, after the last customers collected their cats yesterday. We send our best wishes to everyone to keep safe and well, and especially to all our loyal customers who we have got know so well since we first opened in 2007.
Our diary is still pretty full for the summer and we will keep all the existing bookings during the coming weeks of uncertainty, so anyone who has already booked will still have their dates secured in the hope that the pandemic will have been taken under control by then.
We will still be contactable by phone or e mail and are happy to answer any queries in the meantime.
We would like to thank all our customers for their loyalty, support and kind words. Our enormous thanks go to all our extremely hard working staff, without whom we could not have been able to run the cattery smoothly for so many years.
We are looking forward to happier times when we can welcome back all our regular feline guests who we have got to know so well.
Stay safe everyone and see you again as soon as possible.
Sue & Paul
